From the first offer I gave him until he signed he kept saying he liked my offer best. I'm surprised he didn't make me try to counter your offer. Was yours for as long?

Yep. 5 years. Had a million dollar bonus for batting award and was worth about 2.0 more per year. Oh well.

Guess this is a statement for being a big market, big money team doesn't necessarily mean jack.

I'm a bit surprised that Rugumas got quite that much money, for that long. I figured he'd get $6mm/year for two years, not $24mm over 3.

Actually, it's 21 million over 3 years.

The dollars are spread out over the 3 years and he averages just over 7 million a season.

I think the 6 million a year sounds about right. But I needed him so I figured one million plus an extra year was going to get him. I guessed right.
