The only time I disable it is to export/upload. I wouldn't leave it down any more than that though.

I use AVG as well, plus Comodo internest security, which has its own firewall, but I just don't feel comfortable leaving windows firewall down.

But! I have talked with BradZ and a co-worker about possible solutions. There are about four I am going to try tonight when I get home from work. Obviously, they might not work, but I will try and be ready for tomorrow. If I can't get it fixed by the weekend, after Andrew extends a few days, I'm not sure what to do... /sadface /facepalm

Plus, I have no excuses. I know Vista sucks and we were on break but I had a LONG time to get this figured out. I knew we were switching to 10. In hindsight I should have downloaded it then, and tried to get it installed. For that, I do apologize.
Now that is some funny shit!

Contrary to what I sent Andrew the other night, I'm still having trouble exporting/uploading without completely disabling windows firewall.

However, I haven't had time to try the stuff Andew posted in this thread for the FTP issues, so I'll try those when I get a chance.

With this issue, no question is dumb. And yes, I have rebooted several times.

I might try and get a copy of XP and use my computer as dual boot. It should run on XP without any issues...fucking Vista.

And yes, I have been running as admin. That's not even an "issue" with people who have had Vista or Windows 7 for a week....you just learn to start doing that.

From what I understand the only thing special you need to do is right click the shortcut and run it as admin. I'm on XP though so don't know for sure.

If they wouldn't mind, I would love a walkthrough on installing.
