Ok. So if you traded Morgantown, with Baltimore or Batavia, do you truly believe you're records would be that good? Neither Virginia or Washington can honestly say that facing Baltimore or Batavia is a guaranteed win. Wilmington can probably say that about Baltimore though.Originally posted by Clay View PostUnfortunately there's not a great way to judge it. My personal (admittedly biased) opinion is that you fielded a Stout v Porter team, the Stout would win. I think you'd have two great teams, but I think if you took a Starting 8, L & R Starter, L & R Reliever and Closer from each division... Stout would field the better team. In fact, I'd further argue that the Stout would leave players off the team through necessity that would start on the Porter.

What about the last year?Originally posted by Pat View PostSkewed to favor your argument.
Last eight seasons, Stout has three Brewmasters and three IL Championships.
What about this year?
Clay said he didn't want to talk about the past... so, the current still favors the Porter.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

Not from an overall division perspective where each win by one of the top teams over Morgantown results in the division having a .500 record in those games. It doesn't help much to beat up on yourself in that case.Originally posted by Lintyfresh85 View PostThe teams that benefit most from Morgantown would be the Stout itself.

I've owned Batavia the last few seasons. They win some, but I've honestly killed Batavia. I think my record with Baltimore tends to be pretty close. To be honest though, I'd argue that my winning percentage over the last 5 years against Baltimore and Batavia is better than against Morgantown.Originally posted by elprez98 View PostOk. Really the beauty to this whole argument is that there isn't a correct answer. The Great One!

I take offense to that.Originally posted by Clay View PostUnfortunately there's not a great way to judge it. Produce the list. There's not one guy in the Stout that would be left off our team that could make ours.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

So are you saying it is possible that a crap teams young players' development could be hindered? Hmm that is really unfortunate... I figured your batting and pitching coaches + potential of the player is what determined development.Originally posted by Clay View PostYour team is closer than you'd think. I watch all three of our games this week and you could have easily won two of them.
My opinion... just that... an opinion... because you are in a division with high quality teams... it makes it more difficult to patiently wait for young talent to bloom. I think you need to consider moving prospects and or high draft picks when these big name guys hit the market like I did with Woodbury and Nino. I think teams that win help young players develop. I think you need to make big moves to get mediocre before your farm system will really blossom.OSFL: Lake County Extreme 2008-2028, 2010 Champions

OK, you guys put yours together and we'll do ours and we'll let those other four divisions decide who's right. Fair?Originally posted by Lintyfresh85 View PostI take offense to that.

I have no factual evidence, but I've always called it "The Maine Effect". I think Maine has less busts than any other team because they win.Originally posted by plasticbeast View PostSo are you saying it is possible that a crap teams young players' development could be hindered?
