5th pick in the 2016 draft R.J. Mclendinin will make his debut on Wednesday against the hated Windy City. Staff has been telling me to promote him for 2 weeks, just didn't want to start the clock. Looks like I will.

2B/3B Dave "Fever" Johnston will make his BLB debut this sim.

It is, maybe, the first time in my almost 40 seasons of GMing I have called up a guy I truly never expected would make a BLB appearance as recently as a few sims prior.

I signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

But here we are.

Johnston is a left-handed hitting infielder who destroyed RHPs at AA and AAA all year. He made the AA All-Star game this season.

My hope is he'll provide some infield pop vs. key RHP the rest of the way.

Pat Bryan (2B)

While Baltimore will likely be primarily calling up players on the BLB payroll, there is one rookie worth watching who will get the call, infielder Pat Bryan.

This former FSU star has shot up through the minor league ranks very quickly, even for a Baltimore prospect. Ranked at as the #78 overall prospect, he's a good defender at 2B with decent speed and a desire to win. Bryan was drafted in 2016 late in the second round, as the Bulldogs' GM was pleasantly surprised to see him still available.

Bryan hit over .350 in his two years as a starter at FSU and has impressed the Baltimore front office after posting a .372 average and 169 OPS+ in 38 games in Annapolis (AAA) this year.

3B Dave Jerome
Acquired from Pittsburgh in December of 2015 along with Jimmy Peller (now in Wilmington) in exchange for Bruce Gonzalez and Jimmy Griffith, Jerome has provided consistency through his minor league ternure. Progressing and improving every year.
Dave has the tools to become a great glove in the last bag before Home (6/5/7) equiped with an elite arm and a knack for the ball. He has a great work ethic and leadership skills.

Jerome has the precision to put the ball in the hole and is patient at the plate.

With Liverett touched for father time and no longer reliable for a play-off contender team Dave will bring the youth and the desire to the Shark´s locker room. His line this year in his debut in AAA is quite solid
.280 / .387 / .463 / .850 / 134 OPS+ / 2.7 WAR excelling with his glove with 31 PO against only 5 Erros for a defensive efficiency of 1.076 and a ZR +6.8.

He will back-up right away Jerrod Frost and will start to learn the other positions of the IF as able.

There is some whispers out there saying that Sharkn20 is using this time of Jerome in the BLB as a presentation card, as some managers across the BLB have expressed interest in the 24 years old originally from Odessa (TX)

SP Angelo Lujan
Drafted in 2015 (2nd Round) and listed now as the #92 prospect in the BLB Angelo is shinning so far this year in AAA, this combined with the injury of Flores and the struggles of Rabb give him the possiblity to debut in the big show.

He has a 9-5 Record (8-1 this year) in AAA and so far in 2018 he has 1.90 ERA, 0.3 HR9 2.2 BB9 7.8K9 and a wonderful 2.5 WAR.

Lujan is a fly-baller with 3 above average and 1 average pitch including a fastball that can tick 96 in the speed gun.

Kaden Wooten (2B)

With the last minute trade of SS Dave Nelson, Seattle will be calling up Kaden Wooten from Triple-A Vancouver to help fill the void in the infield. Wooten, 24, was the Pilot's 2017 Minor Hitter of the Year.

"In 62 career collegiate games at UNLV, Wooten hit .296 with a .943 OPS, tore his labrum his senior year and went undrafted in 2015. Maine immediately signed him to a minor league deal and Wooten responded by hitting .294 with an .861 OPS at Single-A and .298 with an .895 OPS at Double-A. In 2016 he jumped to Triple-A where he struggled hitting just .190 with a .621 OPS before being sent back down. Wooten was acquired on April 12th by Seattle after being released on New Years Day by Maine.

In 2017 at Double-A, Wooten hit .312 with an .895 OPS and a 4.5 WAR, good for 6th best in the league and All-Star appearance. In 2018 at Triple-A, Wooten has hit .326 with an .859 OPS and 3.7 WAR, good for 5th best in the league, was an All-Star and had a 25-game hitting streak. He currently ranks as the top 2B in Triple-A and a Top 20 player overall. The minor league system report suggests he is ready.

I really have no idea what to expect from this kid. He's never been a Top 100 prospect. Nor has he ever been listed on the org top 20 list. He has hit everywhere he has been, he can field his position, he can run and he has good intangibles. Despite all that, my scout says he has "no future in the big leagues."

Ted Sandy (C)

Former 9th overall pick Ted Sandy will make his BLB debut this week. The Pilots are getting desperate to score runs and have now called up their second consecutive Top 20 Triple-A player.

Sandy has never been a Top 100 prospect but since joining the franchise in Seattle, he has hit very well. In 2017, he hit .293 with an .816 OPS and 2.7 WAR in 77 games at Double-A. This year at Triple-A, he is a similar .317 with an .802 OPS and 2.8 WAR in 84 games.

Already "well known" around the league by fans he is also popular with opposing GMs. Sandy has probably been the #1 prospect asked about in Seattle the past two seasons. That's usually a good sign.

2B D.J. Barnard
Former 3rd Round pick and currently sitting #100 in the Prospect´s Ranks (2nd best prospect as a 2B) Barnard is the last Top-200 prospect remaining in our organisation from the legendary 2014 Draft Class.

Barnard has slowly been cooked going through the entire minor league´s tree getting a lot off experience both fielding and batting. Since the first day D.J. has shown ability to put the ball between the defenders, draw walks and batting for distance. With excellent defensive traits, uncanny speed and instincts while running the bases. D.J. is a 5-Tool blue chip that will take over for Danny Romero when he hangs up.

We planned to call him up in September, but the injuries decimated our IF leaving us no option apart from calling the 21 years old for his initial shot at the BLB level. His performance will determine if we kick him his career right away, or we send him down before he loses his Rookie status at some point in September.

So far D.J. Barnard wants to play in Dallas and his numbers are backing up his wishes. While learning the short stop position, D.J. has bat a line of .282 / .354 / .431 / .784 / 116 / WAR --> 2.0 with 25 extra base hits, 12 dingers, and a nearly 2/3 BB/K Ratio.

Our Scout sees him a "Superstar potential, but there are enough flaws in his game that he probably won´t quite get there. Should still be a great player, though." / .290 hitter one day. / Has plus raw power and has the chance to be a run producer. / Doesn´t lay off all of the bad pitches, but avoids most of the obvious stuff. / He´s adequate at the 2B position, with decent hands that llow him to catch what´s right at him. / Good speed. / Barnard isn´t very smart.

We wish him nothing but the best the next 2 SIMs. Kid is your time, since you came here with 17 years, you are building yourself a name within our organisation. Enjoy out there under the flashy lights
