The six round 5/6/7 picks are kinda what I thought...they all come out looking basically like crap. We'll just have to see how they do in camp.

QB Hardy Campana comes in at 10/25. He'd better pop BIG in TC. Ouch.

I think Orbik was the right pick in round 2. He's gonna be pretty damn good barring VSOD.

I'm excited about my two first round picks. Both are immediate starters and while I no longer have a 1st round pick next year, both were positions of dire need for my team.

My second round pick of Daryl Swift landed about where I expected, though I really wanted Orbik to slide down to me. Swift's combine and bars match my play style rather well, so I expect him to hold up in training camp. Nothing flashy, but a good backup or okay starter until I find my true QB of the future.

I had hoped to find a starting NT earlier in the draft, but since that didn't happen I snagged Medina in the third. His overall rating might not be too sexy, but he had a good agility combine score so he should be a good run stuffer for us.

With the 4th round I addressed depth issues on my offensive line. Bo Landers is projected to be my backup LT as he should be good for us in pass protection. Toby Harding had a relatively unspectacular combine, but his game tape wowed us. Hoping we found a keeper here.

And with my final two picks I took shots at the linebackers that were left on the board. Austin Garrett was drafted to see if we could find a more complete player for our WLB position, while Steve Babbitt was selected to be moved inside as a potential SILB. We believe his ratings will only go up at that position.

(1) Moe Zimmerman WR 18/23 - DISASTER LOOMS. Not so confident this guy will bump like Campana will.

(2) Rob Wickes RB 32/63 - Hopefully he doesn't VSOD or drop big in camp.

(3) Billy Wilkins T 20/49 - Hopefully a solid OL

(5) Jumbo Freitag CB - 22/47 - I remember wishing I picked some other CB but maybe he'll be ok.

(6) Glen Bustamante DE - 22/51 - It's sick, but if this guy has a good enough camp he'll start at DE for me.

(7) Les Sanders T - 14/22 - Getting cut, probably.

1-16 CB Casey Shannon: 20/42 - 43% dev. we are sure he should move up in TC, combines would agree with our scouting staff.

2-16 OLB Mario O'Pope: 21/42 - 47% dev. He looks to be a decent OLB all around can do most things, we were hoping for better #'s but lets see what TC brings.

3-16 RB Billie Joe McCarthy: 27/29 - 52% dev. We think this kid will rise in TC, how much is to be seen. His 40 was the concern but we don't see any reason why some of current bars won't improve based on his combines.

4-16 TE Antonio Paeth: 22/49 - 26% Dev. The Phnatoms front office is pleased they strayed from the draft plan and took this guy as BPA. Looks liek a solid move and another toy for Castillo to throw to.

5-16 DT Lamar Hartzel: 22/51 - 46% dev. Lamar was the only DT our scouts liked by this point, they knew what they were looking for, appears to be a solid for a round 5 pick.

6-16 T V. Sunia: 13/50 - 7% dev. Sunia is raw but has some potential that the front office liked. He can be a backup T whil ehis run blocking is weak, he has the tools to pass protect well.

7-16 ILB H. Lucas: 14/35 - 26% dev. Overall no complaints with this pick, our other ILB choices always seemed to go before we could choose them. He can play run D, and for a WILB that works.

Pre trainign camp the Portland brass is optimistic about this class of rooks, the top the picks weren't a high as we hoped, but 4-7 brought in alot of depth and futures look bright for a couple.

1.32 - G Peter Lotter (34/69 -> 39/66) - 6'2", 307 lbs. Peter looks to have a legitimate shot at starting out of the gate. He will certainly be a backup a multiple spots on the O-Line at minimum.

2.32 - WR Ray O'Neil (26/56 -> 29/50) - 6'1", 203 lbs. We don't rebuild in Anchorage, we reload and that is exactly how we treat our corps of receivers. We hope to get O'Neil some playing time as the #3 or #4 main this season.

3.32 - T Ray Gonzales (13/18 -> 17/22) - 6'6", 337 lbs. Ray is a big boy and our scouts think his playing days at Cal were overlooked by a lot of teams.

4.32 - DT Russell Moss (16/37 -> 22/41) - 6'2", 281 lbs. Not a real need position, but we didn't see any other player that we liked at this point in the draft.

5.32 - S Gene Harless (19/50 -> 22/46) - 6'3", 215 lbs. Gene looks like a potential steal in the 5th round and would fit our defensive scheme nicely if he is able to develop into his potential.

6.32 - ILB Will Cox (17/48 -> 20/47) - 6'2, 257 lbs. Will will likely be a backup for us for his first few years in the league.

7.32 - RB Renaldo Jennings (29/31 -> 31/32) - 6'1", 220 lbs. Mr Irrelevant.

Fletcher and Orbik both drop. A little more concerned about Orbik at this point, especially after I traded away his mentor/incumbent starter Ilardi. But they'll be fine.

Marsh...well, he did move 8 points in TC, but up. The hell? Must be volatility, and man did I ever need that. Volatility bumps shouldn't happen to guys like him, but this is a godsend for my secondary.

Forbes is still meh, I have a lot of guards. Carlisle I still like, but I'm unenthused. Whalen...very disappointing. Bauer...very un-disappointing! Had no idea what his PRS bar was with all that blue when I took him, but I'm very, very pleased to see it come out as a 92. Ian Subramanian's replacement has, I think, been found. More than I could have asked for when I took that shot in the dark!

Also picked up a free agent fullback, K.C. Myers, who looks like he could do alright. Got some options now with the team. Going to be resetting my trade block soon. In particular, it looks like I have a glut of linebackers...and perhaps guards.

1.21 - QB Hardy Campana - 10/25 -> 13/26 (+3/+1). Well, it's positive, but... really? 13/26 in the first round? I'm thinking much more 'bust' than 'creeper'. I don't see how I can play him over Ike.

2.21 - OT Tony Holmes - 25/55 -> 33/55 (+8/0). That's nice. Good size, good strength. I'll take a 50ish OT in the 2nd.

3.21 - RB Nick Mayberry - 22/54 -> 22/45 (0/-9). As on the field, A.J. McGee is not looking over his shoulder.

4.2 - DT Mel Browning - 29/62 -> 30/54 (+1/-8). Horrible camp, but he's got some skillz (and a good PRS bar). He'll hang around as a backup.

4.21 - QB Julio Roaf - 5/37 -> 9/36 (+4/-1). Ok camp, but not showing me anything.

5.21 - LB Mack Sevcik - 23/38 -> 26/37 (+3/-1). Ditto, although he has more upside, especially as a 3-4 rushbacker. Not DOA.

6.21 - SS Harris Kabinoff - 20/51 -> 23/45 (+3/-6). Cabbage-head. May stay as a ST gimp.

7.21 - WR Jimmy Shell - 11/20 -> 12/21 (+1/+1). Meh. Nice BPR, but I'm already pretty blessed in the WR department. Doubt he makes the roster.

Pretty weak draft. Holmes is the lone bright spot. Sevcik and Browning may contribute. If I had absolutely nothing else at QB, and/or I was rebuilding, I'd give Campana a shot, but as is... disappointing, to say the least.

Overall a good haul for me. Obviously I'm happy with my two first rounders. Day one starters the both of them and they earned it through training camp.

QB Swift fell off a little more than I would've liked, but I took a shot at him. Hopefully he learns the system quickly so he can be a legit backup, but I'll be on the lookout for a QB come the offseason.

I figured Medina was going to drop off. All I need from him is to stop the run and he continues to look like he'll be able to do just that.

Bo Landers surprised me in TC. He put forth good effort and I look forward to having him as a backup T for the next few season.

Mr. Harding at C was obviously going to drop off in TC. Staff knew that going in. We still like what we see with him if he can continue to develop throughout the season. As it he may be on the practice squad due to our depth at C.

We moved Austin Garrett to WLB and hoped his rush skills would shine through. Sadly he didn't show us enough. He'll make the roster, but only as a backup and even then he might not see much game time.

Babbitt also fell off a bit as expected. He has more of a chance to stay with us for the long term, but it may be a struggle for him to make the opening day roster.

Last but not least my undrafted safeties. Tyrus Woodson worked his butt off and is going to make the team, while Brady Graul has a little more to show us. We liked both of these pickups though and will definitely keep them around for the season.

Morgantown got most of what was needed in this draft, namely a starting cornerback and receiver. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Good gain in current and nice that he didn't drop any potential, still not too sure about him long term but the New Jersey native is the only one of my top 3 picks who will even make the team.

Even before TC I liked my 4-5-6 choices better than my top three. Would have liked to see a little more gain out of him in TC, but after my frist three picks, I'll take it.

Moved him to guard because I can never have enough guards. Will compete with Earnest Bronson (who dropped 4 points this camp, after picking up 14 last year) for the #3 spot.

Almost picked Yanez in the 7th round, probably should have instead of wasting the pick on Poston. Riley's +4 gain intrigues me, but I'm not sure if I have a roster spot to hold onto a guy who may only creep up into the low 30's even if his bars look to be set up perfectly for a 3-4 WLB. Sawyer and Kellog will probably make the team for special teams and affinities but RB Ellingson's days were numbered as soon as I signed Ian Osborn. Grier could end up with Tracy Narcisse's job as a long snapper.
