Question, what format do logos need to be in so that we can get them in the game? Or is this the format?

The game created logo's are .bmp and are 268x164 pixels in size.

I don't use photoshop but I assume it's similar to gimp. Basically all you have to do is turn on/off the layers until you get the color combination you like. Then insert your logo, resize it and move it around until it's where you want it, and you're all set.

using gimp

using gimp -- open the template

1) go to dialogs
2) select layers
3) layers appear and just unselect/select what you want (there is a little square box next to each layer which turns into an eye when that layer is visible)
4) import logo as a layer - you can right click on that layer and scale it appropriately (probably have to change the mode in the layer drop down box to "multiply"

NOW -- How DO I GET RID OF THE CHECKERBOARD BACKGROUND -- (I know it's simple )

The checkerboard background means there is no background. It's a transparency. If you save it as a .png file it will show up like this:



rather than this:



It's kind of hard to see but the first image doesnt have a background while the second has a white background.
