using gimp
using gimp -- open the template
1) go to dialogs
2) select layers
3) layers appear and just unselect/select what you want (there is a little square box next to each layer which turns into an eye when that layer is visible)
4) import logo as a layer - you can right click on that layer and scale it appropriately (probably have to change the mode in the layer drop down box to "multiply"
NOW -- How DO I GET RID OF THE CHECKERBOARD BACKGROUND -- (I know it's simple )

It's kind of hard to see but the first image doesnt have a background while the second has a white background.
