A week after the 0-7 LAC Xtreme post 370 passing yards on our defense, we have the pleasure of welcoming Walter Andrews and the Ohio Valley Showboats.
Andrews is basically a fully realized, veteran Covington. Only he has a major, major weapon in WR Neal Howe, who'll probably be doing some showboating, especially as Utah prepares to play this game without its top corner this year, Mitchell Prescott.
The Showboats are a team that should not be 2-5 right now. Best of luck to you Sharkn!
WR depth chart reset:
Only a few weeks after Hunter Vandersommen was demoted and apparently put out to pasture, he reclaimed his position in the Utah receiving corps with a splash. Hunter's now the presumptive starter in Bryan Sidharta's place.
The Bees got a good look from rookie Wade Morton as well, who went 2/2 - 29 yards from the WR5 slot today. This guy was unstoppable in the preseason, I mean he was just a force. I don't know, it might be hard to keep denying him chances ...
But the splash was made by 11th-year new signing Zach Coughlin. A former first-round pick for the almighty Columbus Empire, Coughlin is still really, really explosive, and put up good stats as recently as last season, with Morgantown. And by good I actually mean sorta eye-popping: 70.5% reception rate, and nearly 9 yards per target!
This is a guy I can envision being a starter out wide at SE. His low RR is his only fault and while I suspect that's a little bit more meaningful than "just target %", it might help funnel the balls to Alvin Foley -- as an extra bonus.
Regardless, looking forward to working out the kinks on offense. A lot to be excited about with these receivers.
