  • Week 17 Discussion / Playoff Picture

Earnest Giang is sitting out with a 2-week shoulder injury, but he won't be the only Bees starter missing from the lineup. That field turf is garbage, man. With Denver in the playoffs regardless, there's no incentive to try and knock them out, either.

    AC

The AC wildcards are set, and the only fluid spot going into the final week is the AC East battle, between Motor City and Lake County. Both teams should be pretty heavily favored going into this week, and a tie would favor MTC, I think?...which is good, because as much of a challenge either team would be, I don't think I'm the only one who is thinking, "Yeah, I could do without facing off against Paul Covington throwing to Vinny Ireson."

New Orleans and Denver make the wild cards even if they lose this week.

    NC

Columbus is the official #1 seed in the NC, although the NC East (BOS/CAM) and West (PH/YUM/LVS) are still up for grabs, as are both wildcard spots (GAI/MOR are in it as well).

A full ten of the NC's 16 teams have a shot as it comes down to the wire.

Believe it or not, I don't think this one is locked up yet! A Bayhawks win will likely push them behind a number of other teams, although they are going up against Las Vegas.

KAL, BKL, and LA could all finish 3-13, and all of them would pick above SFO (I think) if the Bayhawks win, in the order shown here [based on SOS tiebreaker]. How's that for incentives!

Too many possible games depending on too many results, so I can't predict who plays who in the WC. I've decided to try a change at RB for the Port City game. I've been disappointed with Lynchs numbers considering how our team is built to run. Coffey and Kastilahn will be sharing the load

If I win in week 17 I will have correctly predicted my record for what I believe is the first time.

Also, win clinches first round bye for me. If I lose I also need Yuma and PH to lose.

We're pretty much locked in, no big diff between #3 & #4, so will give the rookie QB a shot. Why not.

Boston is in the driver's seat for the division.

Win against SMD and we're in, lose and it gets messy.

The fact I have a chance at a wildcard spot blows my mind. Guess I shouldn't have sat Meyer on the bench at the start of the season. He just wins!

Another W and with Andrews out of the picture due to a knee rupture Motor City should give his last W of the regular season!! Time to think what QB we will put on the field this weekend. But one thing is sure... Kevin Giles is good he can run he can catch and he can reach tue corner... Intriguing next season... Maybe underrated?? Maybe we can stick with him te next year?? Lot expectqtions in Columbus

Sanchez McBriar showed up and we fell to North Liberty, 23-13. Top need this offseason: QB. At least he didn't fumble after having his face collide with Martin Rice's backside.

We even lost out on our only #1 statistic: Turnovers committed. Kalispel outdid us by one turnover on the season.

All that said, it's still nice to be back in the playoffs after two years of pretty garbage football. Even if we don't win a playoff game this season is a success.

Close game to finish the season against Port City. They've finished 7-9, and are a good team, so the result is no suprise to me after the decision to rest half a dozen starters.

What is a suprise to me is how much Fletcher has dropped off the radar. Are people double teaming him? Has he become homesick for Utah, maybe even saving his best for the Bees?
He was only targeted 3 times today and failed to catch anything

Ouched. Blanked 30-0 by Denver. I didn't get any injuries, fortunately, and Denver seems to have drawn a boatload of them. But man, I expected my backups to put up at least a fight. Maybe they aren't as good as I imagined...

gg marv, man, try to lose before we face each other in the playoffs! :)

Losing on the last second field goal and not making the playoffs at 10-6 sucks except for the better draft position we'll get because of it. Amazingly, 4 teams in the NC finished 10-6 and failed to make the playoffs.

Yeah, the draft order is based on somewhat outdated rules. Aside from the bowl winners, it's by record, then SOS.
