I mean blitz the nickel defensive back in a nickel package?
Oh!
The nickel back uses your WLB blitz %s when they are in the game (WILB, for a 3-4). This is why I typically avoid blitzing the WLB. I think this is correct, anyway.
Doesn't look like you can blitz the Nickel CB at all, no matter what, based on the options I just looked at in game.
I was thinking the same, but there's a lot I don't know about this game. Plus I'm not the biggest football guy, but it seems like it would take a while for a corner (not the nickel) to get to the QB to put any meaningful pressure.
Well I guess if you know that a team likes to run outside, it might work.

That's my understanding.
Oh!
I guess that may explain some of the reasons why we are getting killed in the passing game.
If it doesn't say that the specific player blitzed in the PBP can you assume there wasn't a blitz?

Just tested this with 34, 100 WILB blitz, 100 blitz from nickel on all downs, it randomly blitzed in nickel, and randomly blitzed LB's, but never my nickel back. Dunno
Great read, especially for a guy who just straight up rexes everything (mainly because i'm afraid of making a mistake!).
Does most or all of the guide still apply to the latest version of the game?
Can you gauge how good a gameplan is against the AI in SP mode? Is it a good enough platform to test your gameplans?
Had a little go at trying to gameplan the other day and after staring at the screen for a couple of hours, making tweaks, I ended up ditching it as wasn't sure I was making the right adjustments.
The way our season is going, I might try gameplanning in a few games at the end of the season if we're out of playoff contention

All the gameplans I have used in the last 2 years of FOF have some from some version of testing in SP Mode against the AI. I do it alot. ALOT!
Except I create a MP league, and set all but 1 team (the team I control) to AI. That way I can trade in players with certain bars that I'd like to test out with something without any fuss from the AI teams trade meter. :)

The only time this is true is when you're in 34, and there's no blitzer (in pbp), and you're not in dime. There will technically be a blitz, it won't show, and it's your WLB blitzing.
My assumption is if a player blitzes, that's reported in the PBP. Should be a safe assumption, I would think.
Rush -- how much applies these days, it's hard to say. I think we're all fish out of water to an extent here, slowly feeling things out. At least for me, I don't run any tests or anything like that, so I'm just watching how MP leagues unfold over the seasons. It's not scientific and I probably make mistakes, but it seems sensible :)
In a 34, the WLB blitzes automatically unless it's the dime. I don't know if I would call that a "blitz" or if I would call that "being treated exactly like a RDE", though. Of course, in the DIME, the WLB is not on the field.

Yeah, FOF is a funny animal with how things are interpreted, in reality it's not a blitz. But would he be a RDE, a LDE, or both on different plays? ;)
Aston, we're gonna need you to spend roughly 5.147 hours testing this out pls.
Would you say that Rex does a lot better in gameplanning in this version than before?
For example;
Lesson 1: Don't Rex
Don't do this. Rex is not so bad with their offenses if you have the right personnel. Rex is really, really bad on D. Rex will play 1-deep.
Is Rex still really bad at defensive gameplanning or is it a good idea to use rex as a base for newbies?
