The Bees replace DT Kurt Lee pretty quickly, and won't pick again until late in round 4. Between Fike, Lee, and now Cleaver, we've invested an awful high quantity of picks on DTs in the past three offseasons (I don't even want to think about how many), but it's OK. I think we still got good return -- right players, right times.

Utah does have a promising player to show for its missing 3rd rounder, though, in second-year WR Idontrememberhisname ButithinkhisfirstnamewasThomasorsomething. This is a good 2-man group for us to build around, and we'll just see what we can get with the shots we take later on.

                  Awesome write-up Shark!

This class seems to be missing that super-OL player at either G, T, or C, and also didn't have a major player listed under CB. A number of LBs and RBs at the top, but without any QBs at all, it doesn't appear as if this were one of our most talented draft classes we've ever seen.

Hasn't been bad depth at DL though.

I've waited through two and a half rounds for my first pick. I pretty much ignored the top level talent so as to not spend future picks to jump up and snag someone. I've been patient, oh so patient.

I pick at 3.20 and last night put in interviews for some players I'm looking at and seeing what talent is left. I'm pretty excited about a couple of the players that might drop to me and as we've been approaching my actual pick I thought I'd get a shot at a player who could really contribute. But no, Julio. Again. You steal my pick. I gotta learn my lesson and get ahead of you in drafts. Bugger.

                          What'd I do?

In interesting news, S Sammie Maples is expected to get better if I move him to SLB. Did I just find a poor man's Urlacher? I hope so.

Oh, Mileusnic. Solid change of pace guy once Davidson gets too old, might be able to fill in as a starter for a year like Davidson did. I like his value here. :)

That said, there have been some teams really getting into my head in this draft. Seems like we have the same dame draft boards, because everyone I want is being picked right around where I want to pick them. Carl Givens in round 1, Oscar Tubbs, Kennedy Hayes, Frankie Franks, Herb Kenfield, Lonnie Monroe, Patrick Gunja, Jamal Montague in round 2, Renaldo Alder this round... Its been frustrating, but thankfully my second and 3rd options aren't a huge drop off from them talent wise.

And then Poston got drafted. Most heart breaking 3rd round ever for me.

I was browsing around for players that slipped and saw Mil and thought, damn, wow, there's still a RB out there! Of course he gets picked by Yuma....

I feel most of the picks have been rather down on the quality scale this draft after the very top, but there are a few surprises that stick out. Portland's 2.11 C should be a major player, Columbus appears to have gotten quite the late 2nd round DT, and a few others I'm forgetting...

There are nice players here, but so far I'm resisting the temptation to move up because I'm telling myself I don't need any of them. And it's sort of fun to sit back and just see what comes to me.
