Big win for Morgantown! Sorry about your QB though. I also lost mine a few weeks ago for the year.

Have you guys tried changing your Adjustment to 60 minutes so that they don't make them and turn the hurry up to zero so they never go hurry up?

Remember, the AI in this game is an equation that is simply following the inputs that you put it. Don't expect it to freelance.

I've tried every adjustment there is. I took out every long pass option for a few weeks, turned off the hurry up thing, made the game adjustments for all 60, etc. Now I just do what is recommended every week, got tired of tinkering and having nothing of what I put in actually used.

It's simplistic, but understandable, and I think more than forgiveable. Watch the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 38. The Eagles just handed the Patriots the title by slowly moving down the field late in the game to get the first of two scores they needed - while having to kick the ball back to an almost unstoppable Corey Dillon. Bruschi, Harrison and Crennel almost couldn't believe their good fortune that the Eagles weren't going deep to T.O. over and over again. Especially since the hacks the Patriots had at cornerback couldn't cover him.
Being an Eagles fan, I think I may have seen that game. There were other factors that you've failed to mention. McNabb was playing on fumes after taking a pounding for 3 1/2 quarters up til that point. The plays were coming in fast, but something wasn't quite right with McNabb. TO was basically playing on one leg, and wasn't a factor in the vertical passing game the entire game because of it. They may have taken a couple shots deep during the course of the game, but most of his yards came on crossing routes, slants, and outs. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Pats were pretty much playing an umbrella defense at that point. It would've been pointless to continue taking shots 20+ yards downfield. Easy INT.

But hey, what do I know? When trailing in the 4th quarter, anything that's not a 20+ yard pass is unacceptable, just like it's unrealistic for me to think that my defense shouldn't be "aggressively expecting the pass" as the opposing team is trying to milk the clock.

I'm not saying this is a bad game, but there are some aspects that literally leave me scratching my head. I'm also not the only one that sees it. I guess I'm just more vocal than some. For the most part, I'm still enjoying myself, even after watching my season go down the toilet because I lost my stud QB for 3 months with a high ankle sprain.

I did over-simplify my description of the game and we didn't know how beat up McNabb was at the time. I just remember thinking how slow they were... that feeds right into the Belichick Bend Don't Break defensive mindset. Anyway..... that was just an example.

My coaches do things I wouldn't do, too. All the time. In fact, the opposite issue: They refuse to pass when up by a score or two in the last quarter and usually go three and out.

But... hey... it's Front Office Football and not Sideline Coach Football, right?

Just like any GM, you have to live with your coaches calls on the sideline... so I try not to overthink it. If you have a great team that gets along and is cohesive, balanced and deep, you overcome things like that. :)

That's the real challege of FOF. Building a great team and the big picture, not so much the minutia of what a coach does in the dying minutes of a game you've already lost.
