As the playoffs begin this evening, it's time to cast an eye towards next season so that the chumps who didn't make the playoffs (like me) have something to discuss and argue about until the inaugural OSFL champion is crowned.

As you can see, they sim pretty much daily with some weekend exceptions to blast through the offseason. And even then, you're looking at a month-long offseason assuming the draft is conducted in a reasonable amount of time. I personally think this seems like a reasonable plan, but please speak up if you think we should be moving more slowly. I also attend Phillies games and have a life in general, so I can't promise sims would run right at 9pm every evening. But I can run one every night at some time or another.
As for the draft, this is the first matter we need to discuss. How much time are we going to give each owner to make their pick? Some leagues use a method of 6 "waking hours" where you can specify times when you'll be sleeping and not have that counted against your time to draft. Others employ a flat 12-hour time limit for each draft pick. However, even if every pick only took 4 hours, the draft would take over a month to complete all by itself. Which is pretty excessive, imo.
There's a draft utility that allows owners to queue picks in a list and we can use that to keep things moving. That way if you're not going to be around during a given day or evening, you can queue up an autodraft-style list and the utility will draft for you while you're away. But we need to establish a time limit for picks and stick to it.
