Well, you all may have your chance to sign him anyway. I may bite the cap hit bullet and cut him. I really don't need a 2nd FB as long as Conley is alive.

Yeah, I agree, what a dick! He could have at least had the decency to sign with me.

(It's a catch all rule that prevents some decent ideas for trades from happening, too, but easier that than finding a line to draw and stick with.)

Well, the game will say "Trades are only allowed during etc, etc, etc" as a warning, but it won't stop you from processing the trade.

However, it's disallowed by rule. A long time ago it wasn't, but I think it has been for some time now; or, I imported it when I used the CFL as a template for the rules page. Generally, it's to prevent us from converting cap space to draft stock.

Or in my case...stupid luck. The guy goes at least three stages without signing. Then as soon as I trade for a leader, he's says, "yeah, I'll sign that paper." Dick.

Well, that stinks. I had an offer in (for the last three stages) for a FB to make him a leader, then I went and traded for Ness and he became the leader. Then whaddya know? The FB signed. Now I have a FB I don't need. Anyone need a good run blocking FB?

You're top dog. It's like Lovie said when he was hired in Chicago, my first goal is to beat you. The best way to do that is sign your guys and use their knowledge against you.

Another stage, another free agent leaves Waco for division rival Memphis. That makes 3 now this off season:

Eek. May have overpaid for Davidson. No one else bid on him. Kinda surprising.

I really like that FB from Waco, we extended him a 2 Year deal with $ 4 Millions guaranteed and up to $ 9 Millions... Hopefully he will replace perfectly Middleton who is in his 11th Year with two years remainning, will be an interesting 1-2 FB tandem to use during Run and Pass situations... See how it works

I wish I could have kept FB Gino Williams. He has excellent run blocking and blitz pickup bars. Only thing that sucks is his endurance. If you can platoon him with someone else he will do quite well for your run game.

I more or less passed, as well. I made a half-hearted attempt. He does remind me of J.R. Shannon with his endurance and looks like a quality player. That said, $10M is serious impact money.
