Not so sure about the gameplanning...lol. Finally, Whalen goes off and plays up to his ratings. Good all around win for the Totems, but perhaps too late to spark a playoff run. Maybe we can play spoiler. Looking forward to playing Columbus next week.

Dominate (by yards, anyway) S. MD -- but can't recover from 2 turnovers when my 18 rated Qb's can't complete a pass.... :x

Very good win for the Catfish. Quite surprised by the shutout, but I'll take it. :P

NLB loses 14-10, ending our 4 game win streak. However, with 7 dropped passes, how on earth can a qb keep drives alive?

Our O-line has been spectacular pass blocking this season but our run game has been mediocre at best.. Even so, I was still completely amazed we didn't allow a sack against that insane D-Line.

Defensively, we were real inconsistent late, but when we got stops, they were big.. Otis Vaughn continues to be a machine, and I credit him for at least 80% of our defensive improvement this offseason.. But, if not for him, I think this would've been a shootout.

I was just glad to see Clements come fully out of the funk he had been in the past 4-5 weeks or so.

It was an exciting game to watch, big plays everywhere, and we got the W. I can't hope for much better than that.

I said point blank what Chicago's weaknesses were on pass D after week nine and was told I was 'reaching'. So I changed my usual plan (run a lot and throw bombs to Viola) to see if I was.

                  Short (0-8 Yds) 13 12 117 9.0
                  Medium (9-18 Yds) 10 8 100 10.0
                  Long (19+ Yds) 1 0 0 0.0

Nope. I think I was right on the mark. I threw seven at the corners, and 20 at everyone else on that D.

                  Hope that helps.

Big win for the Gaels. Went into Memphis and pulled out a 31-28 win. The offense looked great and got a few breaks by recovering 3 of its fumbles. Broderick Cherbet had 3 sacks to bring his season total to 10. Next up: Brooklyn on the road.

That doesn't even make sense. Who said that my pass defense was good? Not me. I said their ratings are great...and they are. You said that the slot receivers were coming in and shredding up the linebackers and nickel backs. Apparently you've interpreted this into something all your own. But hey, go with it.

Your top two wideouts were covered by my top two corners...who have pretty good ratings. And they got shredded. THAT was my point.

                      Hope that helps.

Wrong. Landry had three caught against him and defended one. Neal Truitt had three caught against him. That's seven passes for the whole game. Viola had eight targets. Quintero six. That's 14 passes.

Who was defending the other seven? Not your hotshot DBs. They weren't even in the play half the time I was throwing to JUST MY TOP TWO WRs... There is no coverage underneath when I'm throwing short - quick outs or drags underneath across the middle. Especially when you're in zone coverage. I threw one, just one, deep pass (that your corners would HAVE to cover) the whole game and my QB nailed a 120+ passer rating anyway. Even with a pick!

"This game makes no sense. My DB's are rated 73, 61, 71, 69 yet I have the worst pass defense in the league no matter how I game plan."

My point is that there's more to pass defense than having four highly rated DBs. They have no help. Why does that not "make sense"?

I'm not trying to be a dick. I was trying to offer some advice as someone who's won a few titles and was trying to help you answer a question that was bugging you: "My DB's are rated 73, 61, 71, 69 yet I have the worst pass defense in the league no matter how I game plan."

Fuck it. I'll shut up now and keep my observations to myself from now on.

What I don't understand about the whole thing is this:

                            1. It's the same defense (personnel) as last year
                            2. The ratings have improved for most of the players
                            3. The statistics/results compared to last year are FAR worse (beyond that of just a bad game or two)

If it were the fault of the LB's, Nickel Back's etc., then why did it not cause a similar problem last season?

The only significant difference is the patch (6e).

Comparatively, if it were simply a matter of LB's and Nickle Backs, then Waco would be far worse than the STELLAR passing D it is, since his LB's (particularly the SLB) are no better, if not a bit worse, than Chicago.

I'd like to know the real reason just for my own edification, since, as it stands, it seems that ratings have little effect vs. the passing game.

Again, there's the patch, I'm leaning toward fishy code.

                            Let the flaming begin.

                            P.S. FIGHT!

Yes, you're a Front Office Football Expert WOW! Make believe football god! Good Job man! Make sure to post that on your resume and your tombstone asshole.

If you're telling me that everyone BUT my starting 4 defensive backs are covering your starting two receivers the majority of the game that's just stupid. I give a fuck what route your running.

You just had this little burr under your saddle cuz I said "you're reaching"? Wow. Pathetic. I'm sorry, the deep nuances of this complex game must be beyond me. I can't fathom this situational logic so I'll leave to experts like you.

Congrats on masterminding that sweet win. No one else has been able to solve the riddle of the Reaper defense. Good job professor! :D

We were able to make a couple really big red zone stands defensively, and the offense finally got on track later in the game. Our last big offensive drive of the game was 13 plays, 56 yds, chewed up almost 8 minutes of the 4th quarter, and resulted in a TD. You can't ask for anything more. GG Phoenix.
Let's see a fumble on the ten yard line sets up a St. Paul t.d. and we lose a total of three fumbles.

Phoenix ran in the direction we planned and racked up some nice rushing yards, but the damn turnovers killed us on the road. It's the story of this season, our qb gets hit and he fumbles the ball. . . hmmmm
