Also that's kind of dirty strategy to say you won't make a trade unless you don't pick a guy. If the guy says no, kind of tells you how he feels about him.

I love it but if anyone tries that crap on me, I will be playing all manner of mind games.

We do that often here man... I was asked before other owners sent to me picks during in-draft trades and I did it before. Not bad intentions ar all, just trying to help each others :)

I need a DE badly but never thought he would fall that far, so I didn't interview him... Garion took who I interviewed. Wasn't a smoke screen :) I was undecided between him and Dilly. Just picked the safe option.

Sorry I don't believe in this case that you were trying to help out Rob. I can't say what your intentions were but I just don't see how Rob could answer that trade proposal without giving away who he wanted to pick. In my mind that's entirely different than willingly giving drafting advice.

I wasn't trying to help in this case just protect my pick as in many other cases me and other many owners here would do. Feel free to feel against that tendency and say that we're awful :)

Hey I didn't say that you personally were awful, I just said that it was a shady practice. It is just my opinion. You don't have to like it.

Also, I can't ever remember a case where anyone ever offered a trade like that to me in FOF, so the "many other owners" seems a bit over the top to me. But again, I could be wrong.

My main point is that if anyone tries that on me, if I even respond, they can expect some shadiness back in the other direction.

I wouldn't trust anyone to "not" pick a player that I request them not to pick if I were involved in a trade like this. I know we play under the buddy system here in most cases, but I certainly wouldn't use that as part of the trade leverage.

I think if someone asked me NOT to pick a player, I would have to ask for extra in the trade, whether I'm picking the guy or not. If someone is asking me for MORE than the deal then I should also get MORE in return.

So if you say I'll accept this trade if I don't pick so-and-so, then I'll say that you need to give me another pick in order to not pick the guy. If we make that deal, I won't pick the agreed upon guy, because I got something else specifically for that reason. If we work out a deal, then you ask me not to pick a guy, then you are out of luck if that's the guy I was targeting.

I don't think it's a bad thing if you get something in addition for not picking a specific player.

So, if you are picking directly after me, send me a 7th round pick not to pick the guy you want. I'm happy to work with you.
