Eh, Garion beat me to it, postin' it anyway.

I keep all my past draft_personel.csv files so I can compare past players, so I opened up 2038 in the DA and and checked how it saw Bergeron for me.

      Rate - 59.3 (86th overall, 3nd among ILB)
      D? - 84 (56th overall, 4th among ILB)
      VG - 1
      G - 28
      A - 55
      FP - 3

This is with version 1.2.0.3 with default "weights" for all positions, combines, bars and whatnot. I can only assume the differences come from the different bars seen by the different coaching staff.

For what it's worth I've gone against what the DA told me for 3 of my 4 picks so far this draft. That 2nd round LB was the only exception.

Wow, you saw him way worse than my scouts did. I had him with a 30 something chance to be awesome.

But my spread on LBs is much higher than yours, which would account for the difference.

Edit: (Sorry for all the red.) This is with customized weights, not vanilla.

RD and PD were way above what you expected from the combines, so unless you got a AS to VU in the Interview I wouldn't take him on the 2nd Round. I might had took a flyer for him in the bottom of the 5th round if nobody selected him...

          Just my 2 cents :)

Can someone tell me how to post a screenshot. I'm not technically inclined, I'm old enough that I remember a time without personal computers, cell phones, and all the technology we are currently overloaded with. When I was growing up, we played outside and if it was raining, we played APBA baseball or football, whatever season it was.

So, I'll post my screenshot if someone tells me how.

I've been noticing the differences in the size of the blue bars when other people have been posting guys. I'll have to go back and see who it was, but someone posted a screen shot with post interview bars, gold bars, that looked to be as wide as my non interview blue bars.

And some of the 50 point wide blue bar ranges remind me of the seasons I spent in the old version of the game with "the worst scout in the league" just so I couldn't read the static or matched pair bars while drafting.

The way you can do it on any computer is:

                Print Screen button
                Open Paint
                Paste
                Save as JPG

I upload mine to Imgur, but these forums allow you to attach images, which is what Rando did.

The thing is that you are the current champion all in all :)

Also, what all you guys are showing is the evaluation based on YOUR input, not the Draft Analyzer input. If you go to edit, the choose slot by rounds, you will see that it orders them with its own settings... THIS is the DA I'm talking about. I can change the settings around to make whatever I want. As I said, with my personal settings, Bergeron wasn't a top 5 ILB. With the DA settings, he was supposed to be the 21st pick in the draft.

I made the mistake of going with the DA settings. And, after talking with Greg, the settings are based strongly on FOF2k7 settings, which include masked pairs and static bars. As I've been preaching almost since FOF7 came out... these don't have the meaning they used to have. But I still have people disagree with me.

I had been focusing on scouting with my coaches, but it appears Interviewing is a large determiner in how large the blue bars are.

Scouting means what you are seeing is more likely to be accurate, not the width of the blue bars.

Then what generates gold bars' width? That seems like that would be interviewer's ratings.

So, looking at this, you can see DA said he was 1.21 pick. It also said 28% chance to be Very Good, and 51% chance to be Good. He's none of that :)

For what it's worth, I've observed these Stelmagic numbers to be especially wacky for LBs. They don't seem to have a great handle on LBs. I've had to rely on my own intuition there.

I mentioned this to somebody in the CFL and they agreed; I forget who it was, though.

And this is why people shouldn't share their team related data ratings about players. Mainly I mean interview impressions. What's VU to one guy could be AS for another.
