My bad, sorry guys. I think Aston was waiting to hear back from me to make sure he wasn't running it with an old export. Got a PM about it last night asking, but I never check my PMs. I suspect it will be run next time he's on.
Yeah, I'm not in a rush to get through these sims -- I definitely want manual confirmation from everybody if we do run one early. Sim will be posted shortly.
I have to believe that this run has happened because of all those 1st rounders I gave up for Dakota. How else do you have more receiving talent than anyone has ever assembled?
I thought we had a chance to steal away a win when we got the ball at you 39 with just over 2 minutes to play but your guys came away with the INT to seal the deal.
Good luck next year, hopefully we'll see ya again.
Congrats on the great season and on making it to the big game in back to back years.
It was nice to get revenge for last year. We got lucky with our CB Buddy Shahade stepping up on your final drive to get the INT and seal the victory. I believe that his is the first time in OSFL history that an offensive lineman (LT Tyrell Edwards) has won Tobacco Bowl MVP. He tied the single game playoff record with 7 run blocks. I went with a more run based offense this post season and it is nice to see that that kind of game plan can win a MP Championship. I don't think this would have been possible under the old game.

Just to revisit this. The trade was:
Morgantown 2037 1st, Pearl Harbor 2037 3rd, Morgantown 2038 1st, G Dave Michels, QB Nathan Swafford, OLB Ted Collier
Waco sends QB Norm Dakota
The Morgantown 2031 1st was used to draft TE Rex Plank who was traded along with a 6th in 2040 to Utah for 4.3 in 2039 (our current WLB Parker Jacobs)
The Pearl Harbour 2037 3rd was used to draft RDT Ian Mills who we released.
The Morgantown 2038 1st was traded to draft Las Vegas for their 2039 1st rounder which turned to be WR Trent Ramsey (1.5)
Dave Michels played 3 seasons in Waco, got a ring in 2037 and was lost in free agency to Pearl Harbour
Swafford and Collier were released soon after the trade.
Rob managed to spin a lot of 2nd to 5th round picks in a short timespan into very good, starting caliber receivers. Some of which he kept, some of which he parlayed into better. Definitely not a very common sight, that kind of WR talent all on one team. Usually you have to break your back to get there and it's not worth it.
However, if it just comes your way via the draft, it can be a gold mine.
Of course, much credit also has to go to a pretty powerful Waco OL. When we were still Pro Bowl voting, I remember Waco guys being in top consideration for all the OL spots.
A very nice run here by Waco. Hopefully we'll have the NC put the kabosh on this AC attitude soon enough ;)
Having this much receiving talent should be illegal. Wow.
We have spent a lot of HIGH draft picks on receiving talent and for the most part we have been lucky.
We used:
- a 1st and 5th to trade for WR Upshaw
- a 1st to draft WR Ramsey
- a 1st to draft TE Fadler
- a high 2nd to draft WR Rafter
- a high 2nd to draft WR Gideon
- a high 2nd to draft WR Gilmore
- a high 2nd to draft WR Shaw
Along with all those hits we had misses on:
- TE Rex Plank (1.17) traded to Utah
- TE Toby Manning (2.13) traded to Port City
We also lost 4th round WR gem Deion Winslett to Columbus in free agency.
