I know it's early days but how did the draft go for you?

After trading away our first round pick for LB Petit we are hoping that T Olivas, DE Benton and CB Bratcher can contribute down the line for the Phantoms and hopefully WR Preston can have an impact in the return game.

My first impressions are that almost everybody drafted strongly in the first round with a few little gems in round two in the Linebacker class.

Third round gems include Port City's WLB Bernstein, Punx's DE Baker and Charlotte's DT Freeman

In the later rounds, I liked the pick ups of Anchorage's CB Peebles, Lake County DT Knievel, Bomber's LT Stanton and Yuma may have picked up a stud punter in round 6

I think we got some nice things early and some real useless stuff late. Not sure how impressed I am with the first rounder. Didn't seem like there was much to do about the late round strikeouts. Getting a punter there amidst the roughage is potentially going to be nice.

Really happy with receiver Shane Lake we got in 1st round, also feel we helped ourselves of pick 6.7 of K with rookie Clarence Morris who the scouts see as 49/64 right now with nice kicking distance and accuracy bars which I pray holds up. When I took over LV I wanted to try and keep a fairly young and youthful team, however I have not had much luck with my picks. So with what I was seeing from my scouts I decided to go with veterans that are proven & for most part fully developed. Hoping that this will at least get us to the playoffs and hopefully be a threat in the playoffs. If we make playoffs this could become our new formula, and if we fall flat on our face we are really going to be hurting for couple of years due to trading many picks away. Only time will tell if we made a wise decision.

Although, I will probably most remember this draft as the draft where I voluntarily gave back 11 draft picks for nothing in return, I think with the 2 1st round additions, there is a real possibility that I can salvage the future of this historically dismal club.

1 - 11 (11) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Miles Hawkins CB North Carolina State
Miles Hawkins will be added to an already stout Stingrays Secondary that boasts Santiago Robertson (1.1) and Sawyer Money (1.2). If this doesn't give opposing QB's pause, then nothing will. :)

1 - 23 (23) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Austin Lang QB Cincinnati
The Stingrays haven't had a decent quarterback...pretty much ever since I've run the team. Austin Lang leaves a lot to be desired, but I've got a good vibe about him. With a high sense rush bar...and low intelligence, I think he's got a shot at something good. We brought in Stephen McMaster to help mentor him as a rookie.

        2 - 3 (35) New Orleans * Dutch (online) T.J. Becker WR West Virginia
In order to help out our developing young QB, we added Becker as additional firepower since we are light on WR's.

        3 - 3 (67) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Moe Barker T Baylor
Will Schrimper and Carlos Parent are the incumbents, both journeyman tackles really, but Barker should add depth in case of injury.

4 - 3 (99) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Chandler Abraham WR James Madison
There is a good possibility that this solid combine and poor bars equals getting cut...but we'll hope for the best.

5 - 3 (131) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Denzel Carter TE Virginia Tech
The man's name is Denzel...he'll make the team.

6 - 3 (163) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Tony England CB Kansas
Could make the team, but he won't play, probably ever, for the Stingrays...list pick all the way....

        7 - 3 (195) New Orleans * Dutch (online) Tony McWilliams K Columbia
There's a lot to like about this kicker from Columbia. Desmond Durham was very good last season, so this will likely be a pre-season battle.

          Meh...

Ya, pretty disappointed with my draft, pooed the bed on my hunt for a wide reciever, though he is the fastest man in the league Teddy Davis didn't end up with the amazing skill set of Shane Lake (congrats Ira). Traded up for a RB that was probably overrated to begin with as well. Nevertheless, both were major upgrades to my offense and we'll just see how they play out the next few seasons.

Excited however for my late 4th round pick Dusty Kerns, a nice surprise after the ratings came through and could be a nice QB if Syron goes down or retires.

If my late 4th round tackle holds his ratings, it will be a successful draft considering how late in the draft we started picking.

I did a pretty crappy job with my later picks so hopefully my earlier ones are OK.

                nice draft
                not the best
there wasn't much depth this year other than at CB
I like our TE Pak taken in the 1st
and couldn't wait longer for a CB and took Pierce in the 2nd, would have preferred Gowan if he dropped and C Guffey in the 3rd might be a steal, let's see after TC

For us this draft, if its hold to Ex.2, could be a good stuff with Halcomb showing signs of being a stud.

Cook and Leroy could be nice additions depending on how the develop.

The rest seems nice projects if they get the chance to evolve at decent pace.

We have two undrafted rookie offensive linemen who get past injustices. That's cool.

There was a draft? Sorry I missed my one pick. I shouldn't have traded for anything this season.

I think we had a good draft in Yuma. Got starters with our first 2 picks and a solid nickel/dime S in the 3rd. Hoping for good things from G Lawton and P Hiler. Not sure about the rest.

                            Bad draft for us.

1.20 CB Griffey 0/-17. Lost a lot of INT bar as well as some coverage and run defense bars. With 3 blue and 1 red combine and nice looking bars, I didn't expect that big drop. I thought maybe, with the lower PD combine, his INT might drop a little. But it was a long ride down.

2.19 DT Pritchett. +1/-10. Only looking for two things... run defense and pass rush strength. He had a blue agility and bench and good bars. Now, he run defense is average, at best. Another very disappointing draft pick.

2.30 G Garrison. +5/-2. Not terrible, but with a good combine (blue 40 and agility, red solecismic), I thought he'd go up, not down. Could end up being a quality... backup.

The one bright spot in the draft was 6.19 QB Hancock. I had him as the 4th best QB (I didn't have a chance to interview him) in the draft. He's up +4/+5 to 20/45 by my scout. Could be a future starter for our team.

Rough draft for Dakota except for our top pick Philip Tremblay and a couple "value" guys in the 6th and 7th that aren't spectacular.

Turns out the DE I would have drafted if someone took Tremblay is better than Tremblay is, but Tremblay isn't a terrible pick for where he was taken anyway.

Looks like 1.1 is a monster despite that timing bar.
