FOF Version 6.1 Upgrade/Patch Released.

Ok, I have some beef with this patch.

Prior to patching, I intended to renegotiate Martin Cothran's contract this sim and he demanded a contract worth $44M over 5 years. Now that I've patched, Cothran suddenly wants $51M over 5 years.

I guess it's just too late now and I'm screwed out of the money? Imho, it's kind of ridiculous to make this change in week 6 of the offseason, when teams have already figured out their available cap space and are still in the process of renegotiating players and signing free agents. And the fact that it's undocumented in the patch notes is even more frustrating.

I'd really like to see tonight's sim delayed and this patch rolled back until after the offseason or following the draft. It's really not fair to do this now if it affects player contract demands.

If that's the case, then the patch should be put on hold until after FA or the draft.

I'm attempting to verify this right now. I have one machine on 6.0e, the other on 6.1. It wouldn't surprise me at all. I know that the fact that it was too easy to renegotiate contracts in 6.0e was reported to Jim in detail, 'cause I reported it. :p

I'd be the first one to agree with you on that point - I was surprised that Cothran only wanted $44M over 5 years after he had the season he did and was then franchise tagged. But making that change in week 6 of the offseason isn't the way to go about making it.

After reading Mistwood and your post, I will not install the patch until the week before training cap. It does put my team at a slight disadvantage because I wont be able to benefit from the new combine info and display but ill take one for the league. I never installed the patch so there is no reason to delay tonight's sim imo.

Except that now *I* can't reinstall to the old version, which means I can't tell what anyone wanted prior to applying the patch.

Does anyone have the old file so I can revert to the old version?

OK. I checked a few players, and I think I know what's happening here: it's a side effect of the change in scout error. Cothran's ratings appeared to go up a bit from 6.0e to 6.1. As a result, he wants more money. I verified this by checking my IHOF team. Sure enough, the guys whose ratings didn't move at all didn't change their requests at all, but the ones who went up, asked for more, and the ones who went down, asked for less.

This really means we all need to roll back to the previous version, since ratings (and demands) have changed. If our copies are different from the commish copy, offers will be submitted that will be viewed differently by the players in Aaron's copy of the game.

I upgraded at work after my export and my home copy is still on 6.0e, so I should be good.

Nobody seems to have it. I'll ask for it at FOFC.

Sim Delayed until Friday- Please Read!!!!!

Tonights sim will be delayed until Friday because of issues with the newest patch.We need every owner who installed the 6.1 to reinstall patch 6.0e as soon as possible. I will post the 6.0e installation file as soon as we can find it. I'm hopeful that we can run tomorrow's sim and the Draft is still scheduled for Saturday. Post here if you have any questions.

I'm not sure but to be safe I think you should resubmit once you have installed 6.0e. PM me your export file# and I will erase your most recent file from the server.
