You get more for your players. It's not uncommon to see 3rd and 4ths used to trade for a 40 to 50 rated player with average skill bars..and you usually don't see 75+ rated players going on the block and getting less than a 1st for them...regardless of year.

Honestly, this league has always had trades with ten bazillion picks per trade. Don't know why that is.

That should be the rule of thumb unless a player is in his nth year
