OSFL 2008 Draft Discussion

Surprised to see another QB go so quickly. Did I steal your guy Heel? I needed to upgrade my offense and just didn't think I'd get a guy I wanted at #12 so decided to move up.

diesel is in Las Vegas and sent me a list. He had Duffy as his #1, so he'll be happy.

I screwed myself by not re-signing my QB during the season and lost him in FA. So I need a QB really bad. Sadly the guy I drafted will be starting right away. :(

I worked 40 hours in the last 3 days. Sorry if you feel that is "selfish" I didn't make my pick in time. I have been working and sleeping for 3 days and forgot the draft started this morning. As soon as I found out it was my pick I made it within 5 minutes. I didn't set my list because I wasn't sure what postion I was going to draft. I had to wait to see who was picked first. Bottom line is I can wait till 30 seconds before my time limit is up. This isn't a "madden draft". These drafts are slow. Have been and always will be so chill out and relax.

yep, this is the best part of the season and everyone wants to rush through it.

all, yes, I may sound like an a**hole with that last statement, but I am just speaking the truth. it takes less then a minute to post a note you will not be around for "X" amount of time. That's my only point.

Precisely. It's not a case of wanting to rush through it. It's simply a matter of wanting to have some clue when the next pick is going to be made. Because we do all have different schedules, it's a matter of courtesy to let one another know what's going on. I had a six-hour drive today, so I let y'all know that if the draft made it to my pick, there would be a delay. If we *know* there's going to be a delay, it keeps people from having to check in constantly.

Bill, this is your first draft and you need to understand that the draft takes a while. The utility has been up less than a day. There is a reason we schedule the draft for 5 days because it could possibly take that long or longer. When you have 32 owners located all over the country with different schedules its natural that their would be some delay.

With that said if you are going to be away from the CPU for a while please set your preference list and put it on automatic. Also post in here if you are going to be gone for a while.

Now that's a flatout selfish comment. Look we all got EVERYTHING that's more important than FOF, but damn all the man is asking for is common courtesy. If you know you aren't going to be in to make a pick, just say so. Like if my pick is before 10am pst(1pm est), forget about UNLESS, I fill my utility. Stop taking it personal and just communicate, that's it.

Aaron, yes, this is my first FOF draft, and yes, I may be stepping on some toes, but seriously, all I am talking about is giving your fellow owners a heads up. As I have said, I have commished a football league for over 15 seasons (3 years), and have dealt with my share of issues.

I don't mean to cause problems or insult anyone here, but was just proving a point. I know everyone may not like it, hence the nature of a 32 coach league ... not eveyone is on the same page with everything.

You are the Commish, I am just a fellow coach expressing my opinion.

Yea baby, one pick then mine and I got two of the original 7 guys I loaded my pref list with!!!!

Meaning I gambled to stay at #9 and still got one of my top rated guys!!

Gotta go buy a lotto ticket now....
