Can I just say something that came up last draft and in the BLB... why are people bitching about people using their allotted time???? The draft quickly becomes the least enjoyable part of the season because people think that everyone should draft on THEIR schedule.
The time limit is the time limit. Period. The Great One!

what's enjoyable about a 12hr wait in between picks? We might as well email them to Aaron, right?

I think the issue is that if everyone uses the allotted time, the draft would take weeks to complete.Originally posted by Clay View PostCan I just say something that came up last draft and in the BLB... why are people bitching about people using their allotted time???? You are missing the point. Nobody is saying draft on our schedule. We're just saying check in every once in a while. If you can't, just use the tools that are provided and make a list. Yes people have every right to use the alotted time. I also have my right to think that selfish and voice that. I'd like everyone to be here and trading and having a great time, but I realize that is unrealistic. That's why the utility is used at all. The people who choose not to use utility when they aren't around are being rude and everyone should be allowed to tell them exactly that. 12 hours is ridiculous and that isn't "my schedule" , that half an f'n day. Make a list or be here, it's that simple.Originally posted by Clay View PostCan I just say something that came up last draft and in the BLB... why are people bitching about people using their allotted time???? I agree that shortening the time limit alone cant solve the issue but it can help. In reality, every owner isnt going to use their alloted time. The majority of picks that have been made so far took less than two hours. I think that a 12 hr limit discourages owners from consistently checking in and setting their draft utility. I promise you if the limit was 6 hrs more people would set their draft utility to ensure they get a player they wanted.Originally posted by SkyDog View PostTime limits cannot do what needs to be done. Even if we had only two hours for every single pick, if we all used our time it would take 19 days. Here's a post that I made in another league. It applies here as well.

No... actually... trying to decide how people should draft when they are following the guidelines of the league is selfish. I understand that everyone taking 12 hours is not the best case scenario. However, it's not fair to chastize folks who simply want to make their pick. There have been 5 DT's taken in the first 12 picks... you don't think there are people further down the draft board that might be affected by that fact? Drafting isn't black and white.
HOWEVER... that being said... we have 14 or 15 picks in, what, less than 36 hours? Isn't that about 2-2.5 hours per pick including the overnight (which doesn't count anyway). Is that SO bad? Not to mention the simple fact that the first round is always the slowest. The Great One!

C'mon, people are not sitting at the computer for5-7 hours, trying to make a choice about who they are going to pick since all the DT's are gone. Also, we've had 14-15 picks in essentially 3 hours the rest has been downtime. The solution is simple, as a league, we put it up to vote at the beginning of next season. One vote on whether or not to reduce the time limit, and if it passes, a second vote to the new limit. Problem solved.

Clay, I see your point. I think most people are frustrated because of the huge lapse of time between certain picks and being left in the dark about when the pick was coming. I noticed their was much less bitching yesterday once Matt announced that he was a round and just waiting to finalize a trade. Its understandable to be upset if a pick is taking 5 hrs and no one has any idea when or if the pick is coming.Originally posted by Clay View PostNo... actually... trying to decide how people should draft when they are following the guidelines of the league is selfish. On another note, I'll be away from a CPU from 5:30 to 6:30EST so if my pick comes up during that time I will make it as soon as I get home.

It should also be MANDATORY to have the queue filled. That way if something unexpected comes up and the time does happen to expire, Aaron or Andrew can log in and at least pick someone you picked.

This raises a good question. What's our policy if somebody's time expires and they have nobody in the queue?
