Problem:

I exported on time, and my export was not used. The AI signed a player for me, and this new player started at QB. This is really bad, as this was a critical game.

Hmmmmm...come to think about it, don't those usually clear out? Is it possible that *no* exports were used this stage?

Aaron, if there's a resim (and it looks like there needs to be), you'll need to let me know before you do it so I can clear out the database. I suspect that I'll be online for a another 45 minutes or so tonight, and can do it.

Nope, here is what happened. Something has thrown my CPU clock off and it appears to be 4-5 minutes fast. I pulled the files off the site at 9:02 my cpu time and 8:57 actual time. I missed your upload by 1 minute. Its completely my fault.

Is there a way I can resim one game? I think other owners would be pissed if their team lost or a major injury occured because of a resim.

No, there's no way to do that.

It's significantly different. I'd never have thrown that much with my backup.

But the weird thing is that without the export being used, the AI didn't start my backup, who has clearly better ratings that the guy it signed off the street and started.

The 15 owners who won would have a legitimate beef (just as you do) if they lost in the resim and the 29 other owners would have a legit gripe if someone on their team came up with a major injury.

Its completely my fault and will never happen again. I'm really sorry about this but I honestly thought it was past 9 when I pulled the files.

Resims happen all the time. And no, there's not a legitimate beef. In every league I've been in, no sim is valid if all legal exports aren't used. The normal course of action, particularly when it is discovered this quickly, is to delete the zip file, clear the db, delete the thread, and no one but the small handful of owners who saw the invalid results even have a clue what happened in the invalid sim. *shurg*

I hear what you are saying but I see it a little bit different. I've done resims before when I've made mistakes running the sim before. The difference is they were all run before I posted the file.

When I first saw the post about the problem, there were more than 8 owners on the board. I also didnt see the post until 30 minutes after the sim was run, so who knows how many downloaded the file or looked at the results thread. In the past, we would only have the file thread so it would be arguable that only a few people saw the results. Thats different now with the database and the Results thread.

Understand, I would love to rerun the sim for league and personal reasons (My team lost and commited 5 turnovers) but I just dont think it would be fair to the entire league. I feel horrible about this and wish there was something I could do that would be fair to the entire league. There doesnt appear to be a solution that fits that scenario though.

Count me as one of those who would be extra pissed if we had to resim and we lost. I worked very hard on my GP this morning and it paid off in a OT win @ Memphis where we were 7 pt dogs. My starting QB(76/76), LG(73/73), and MLB(84/84) are all out with injuries and we still won a nailbiter.

If you are that close to the deadline, a simple "don't sim" PM to the Commish should solve the problem.

Ah. It's my fault for assuming that turning the export in on time required a note. Got it.
