Who said anything about fault or a requirement? It was a simple suggestion. You can be as sarcastic as you like, but that simple note that you were cutting it close would have likely avoided the situation.

A note should not be necessary when you make it in time for the deadline. It should be 0% incumbent on an owner to send a note as long as the export is in prior to the deadline. After the deadline, it is 100% incumbent on the owner to ask for a few minutes. Period.

And you are still using absolutes. Requirements. Necessary. Incumbent. 0%. 100%. I made a simple suggestion to avoid the problem.

Its definitely Aaron's mistake and he admitted it. However you cannot convince me there's some harm in sending a little PM when you logged on to make changes saying, "hey I'm cutting it close." I've done it before in the PFL and it worked.

My team won, but I'd be on board for a resim. Just throwing it out there. If the export isn't valid, it's not valid.

Ben is 100% right that he isnt obligated to pm me if he is cutting it close. With that said, I would suggest to every owner here that if you are uploading a sim within 2-3 minutes of the deadline...its would be smart to pm me. Several owners in the past have done it and I think thats why this is the first time its occured in 7 seasons.

I rarely run late sims and exactly at 9 is when I pull the files from the server. Its useless to pm me after 9 because after I pull the sims, I immediately run the sim.

First, we have midweeks in this league. The purpose of midweeks is to address issues like replacing an injured player. Columbus chose not to remedy the injury issue during the midweek, for whatever reason.

Second, Columbus submits a file at the very last minute, opening up a law that all of us have dealt with: Murphy's Law. Murphy had his way with Columbus.

Third, Aaron did nothing wrong. It was nine o'clock and he ran the sim. Ah, you say, his clock was wrong. See number two above.

In sum, we have an unfortunate situation where everything broke wrong for Columbus.

My personal view is that the sim was run properly and should stand. If Columbus wants to protest, he has every right to appeal to the owners and put it to a vote.

My suggestion would be that any further dialogue take place in private. I think people laying out opinions like these above are only going to cause conflict because they are rooted in opinions that are not true and will simply lead to additional conflict.

It's Aaron's call... I don't think ANYONE'S personal opinion matters or what the potential outcome of a resim would be. If Aaron decides that it merits a resim.... resim.... if people don't like it.... well..... that's why the Commish gig is tough and thankless.

Again... just my suggestion... I think chatting in this thread about the results of Week 14 (as they exist right now) is valid... but I think further discussion on the resim topic outside of any potential decision that Aaron makes is counter-productive.

Thanks Clay. I made the decision last night that there wasnt going to be a resim, so we are moving on to Week 15. I think everybody here made valid points. Ben is correct that his sim was on time and should have been included. Rip and Elprez are right when saying that if you are cutting it that close its probably smart to give the commish a heads up.

With that said, I'm locking this thread up. Any discussion about Week 14 can be done in the Week 14 results thread.
