Hey Linty, what's the draft clock set to? I remember it used to be 8am-Midnight, now it looks like it turns off at 8 pm.

          Shit.

DJ McElroy (MTC), CJ Martinez (LVS) and Nick Brooks (CAM), were my only three in priority. I am aggressively shopping 1.25. PM if interested.

Port City takes tackle Bobby Kueth with their first rounder.

Positives - strong combines - 35 bench reps, 5.08 40, scout rates him as VU
Negatives - not really a need position, 88 volatility, only 15% developed.

He'll be 2nd string this year, but he'll get a decent amount of playing time.

I liked him a lot and almost traded up for him. That being said, that volatility scares me..

Portland Phantoms select OLB Ernie Hou with the 25th overall pick.

Positives - Fastest 40, strongest bench, best broad jump
Negatives - Forces my hand to play 3-4, average against the run

With one draft choice, that was almost dealt, the Phantoms will now be switching to the 3-4 defense. Been awhile.

Love that pick at 25. Hou might have been my option if Siddharta were gone even though I need LT much more desperately. Nice choice when you weren't able to trade out.

In Siddharta the Bees finally get our Left Tackle. It's a position we aggressively pursued in FA, but not enough and had to address via the draft. He's got ideal size at 6'5, 321, and monster strength. At this point he's got the 'workout warrior' label but we're really excited about his potential.

I had 4 players I was looking at taking at 23, Nick Brooks, Ernie Hou, Willie "Big Buddha" Siddharta, and Bobby Kueth.

I shoulda taken Kueth for the combines and scout impression, I shoulda taken Hou because I need more LBs, and I shoulda taken Siddharta for the awesome nickname potential. But I took Brooks because I have an unhealthy obsession with guards.

Ha! I was exploring trade-up options to leapfrog Camden, which I viewed as a threat to take Siddharta before me. Held my breath and figured there was a good enough chance I'd get him anyway (or failing that, some decent other options) that it wouldn't be worth what I'd give up.

I like Brooks though. I think he might be BPA out of those 4. Although now you have 3 very promising young guards.

Well none of the LB's I was looking at for this pick are still around so I'm going to select WR Donnell Powell. Our receivers are not getting any younger and I just couldn't pass up on his skills especially at #32.

We are now onto pick #3 of the second round.

Good work today... really got the draft moving.

Reminder... now that we are into the second round, there are 2 hours in between picks instead of 4.

On to pick 5 now, Linty's on the clock. 3 QBs in 4 picks! I think I like the WR, Donnell Cox. A little early for him though at 2.3. A better place would have been say, twenty picks later at 2.23. Utah's pick. :)

I really hate drafting no combine guys, but man, Sklenicka has some real interesting bars and my scouts didn't hate him. We'll have to see how we shakes out.

Ken Vargas, my SILB was a 1st round no combine guy.

He's been my starter for the last 7 years. I guess you never really know what you're going to get out of them.
