the riders busy off season continues in a Trade with Dakota we sent former 2nd round pick TE Burt Shepherd to the badlands of Dakota along with a future 2nd and we welcome to the oasis big play threat WR Pat PB&J Donaghy.

this opens up our offense and gives Lamont Emmerson another target, i sad when i drafted him i thought he was the 2nd best QB in his draft class...hell finally get the chance to prove me right.

now the tough part comes cutting down to 53

Monty didn't throw a a td pass everything was on the ground, didnt throw a pick either hell be a game manager the youngsters on the line looked young. main thing no injuries. good balance 156 rushing 161 passing.

Game MVP: Martin Randle 2.5 sacks 4 tackles hes looking for some PT and Jackie Korr seems to like the switch to Will 14 tackles and a sack

Big Tony got the start with the A team and looked ok except for the pick 6 (DOH!) but other than that fairly efficient 21-33 281 1 td 1 int and he knew where to throw it he targeted fellow rookie Stan The Man Morrison 12 times and he pulled in 7 for 78 yds

run d was still kinda sad had my regular front 7 in and still got gashed for 128 by Kinney.

future looks bright cant wait till these guys gel


Frodo watch: Frodo throws his arm out 29-56! 317 2 tds 1 int well his arm is plenty loose.


interesting another 7 passes defensed im starting to think that is where the height comes in cause i had a similar problem with carl rese. but because the stat isint "track-able" im just crazy.

but frodo had a lot of these for me and itll be interesting to see how many he has this season but there has to be something even last week with only 31 passed he had 7 defensed which is more then our 1st 2 games combined

ugly game but we opened it up a but Andrews threw it 43 times. numbers werent too bad 20-43 315 1 td 1 int. not bad considering the elder statesmen were out

the younger morrison had his breakout game 5 catches for 156 and a td with 110 yds of YAC.most on a 75yd strike. however it took 17 targets to get there. #1 overall pick van mier had 7 catches for 65 yds

good week as there were no major injuries

Frodo watch: looks like Frodo did what he does best turn the ball over and win in the final 2 minutes.

24-44 281 3TDs 3INT (including a pick 6) but he had the 2 final td drives of 9 and 11 plays to win the game. only 5 passes defensed this week but when you throw it 44 times it bound to happen

so much changed since the end of the draft.

Lets make a deal with Lamont "monty" Emerson taking over at QB hope is returned to the desert we did all we good to give him weapons he will still be a game manager but with guys who can make things happen once we get them the ball.

RB- Hugh Emerson will be the bell cow and get the lion share of the carries and also help in the passing game as a safety valve. Peter Briggs will be the #2 on the chart big play ability not much in the passing game but there wont be a lot for him to catch. #3 looks to be rookie Alvin bakers spot to loose his punt return and special teams skills have him edging out RJ Wiggins. (finally rid of him)



FB Leo lane is back great asset in the pass game as a blocker picking up blitzes and good hands along with R Leo Johnstone they will help keep Monty vertical


TE - we traded away Shep to get some PB&J while the pass protection will suffer a bit we feel what we pick up makes up for it. that being said Bob Zapata and EF Hutton are good in platoon more run blockers but both capable in the pass game


WR - Finally we have some real firepower Alfred Morrison has had an outstanding career but hes never been explosive and in what will probably be his last season we got him some help 3rd overall selection Stanley Morrison. the younger Morrison has been productive in preseason and showed what he had in week 4. Pat Donaghy is the perfect compliment to these 2 hes your prototypical bomber

OL - Marcus Martin surprisingly hasent retired (thank you) but we get older every year we brought in a bunch of guys but none are immediate help. but we did get better with moving rosie bennett to G and letting 2 year C Dexter Kaluga start.

DL - i think our strength with Kirk, and Wright Dotson and True excellent pass rush without blitzing. our run d is still somewhat porous but hopefully well get ahead and running wont be an option


LB- bit of a question mark after Chris DiPetro im not sure about the other guys altho former 5th rounder Ricardo Preston has been very productive and lee baxter racked up 90+ tackles so only room for improvement


DB - what was once our strength is now an aged corps of has beens. Cris Lowe gave us 11 good years of his life and Mo Lyon was stalwart. but now they are really old and hanging on for 1 more year. Lamar Campo has been a bit of a letdown but will be a good nickle back and Larry andersom will be our S for the future

wk 1 LA vs PHO

gameplan was much more conservative thank id hoped for but effective really tho the d won this one LA had 2 point blank possessions (1st and goal from the 2 and 5) and we held them to fgs. quite frankly LA surprised us with how often and effective their passing game was. monty did what he needed to, and Hugh Emerson made some big catches including his 1st career td reception. another classic struggle in the series so physical my punter broke a toe!



Frodo watch: wow 19-35 257 3 tds 1 int hes found a new best friend in Danny Russell 3 targets 3 catches 110 2 tds oh my frodo has games like these and Jugg may be able to get them out of him consistently

Looks like were "going ugly early" and often kickers duel with mine missing one but he picked it up in overtime. ran the ball ok 3.6 ypc still threw it a bot more than id like (44 times) but Monty did what we needed didnt turn it over. also very disappointed in our red zone O 1 td in 4 trips we had a hold call back a td. we won TOP and our d was outstanding we got 2 turnovers and El Capitan was beastly up front 6 tackles 3.5 sacks and 3 hurries.




Frodo watch: great googly moogly well they are certianly living up to the Bombers name 23-42 407 4 tds 1 int surprisingly not career highs for frodo but my god him and Dickenson are explosive. no blaming frodo he even recovered a fumble

we wrap up our 3 game road trip with a slobberknocker 17-6 game Stanley Morrison scores his 1st TD on a 38 yd catch and run and Hugh Emerson gets his 1st rushing TD. Monty was ok 16-26 187 1 td 96.1 qb rating. still too many 3 and outs not sure what i need to do to sustain drives. but our d has been outstanding 4th fewest points allowed so far and another great game from The Capitan 2 sacks 3 tackles batted down a couple passes. and his 2nd POG award in a row



Frodo watch: frodo has a tough game but still had a chance to win couldnt quite pull it out but Jugg is doing something right frodo has a 85.8 qb rating highest by FAR hes ever had

1-10-PHO42 (4Q: 00:14) Frodo who? Emerson pass completed to WR Alfred Morrison for 1 yard. The receiver went out of bounds. Tackled by OLB Ronnie Lee. Morrison gained 3 yards after the catch.


Alfred morrison became only the 3rd player in league history to go over 1000 catches it should have been a 9 yd td but it got called back on a hold

disappointing return home after our 3 game road trip. shame too Hugh Emerson goes for 134 yds Alfred Morrison shows hes not THAT old hauling in 7 for 113. but in the end 3/14 on 3rd down. its one of those you look at the stats and just scratch your head on why we lost. passing game was good except the 3 picks ran it very well. well time for my bi-annual whupping at the hands of the bees

well after being taken to the woodshed AGAIN by Utah my got randy boon threw the ball at will. kinda surprising that he was able to attack vertically so easily, i thought my safetys were better but oh well.

so we had a week to lick out wounds and we came back with our highest offensive output aided by a game opening 91yd kick return td. the passing game was a tad more lively, Stan Morrison had only 3 catches but 2 were for tds (22,4). the d was a bit soft gave up 2 tds in the redzone but considering how long i left them on the field i cant complain (nearly -10min TOP)


Frodo Watch: Jugg is a genius frodo had a bad game struggling for consistency, but still he has been a QB guru getting much more out of him than i did. couldnt produce the 4th quarter magic like he usually does but frodo and the Bombers future looks bright
