2025 Season in Review
2025 is over. My fifth season with the franchise, and this one, has been the best season for the Jaguars since 2013. But why I am making this post now, and not one season ago? Because of this…
Isaac Staat Retirement
Isaac Staat, has set an era in the franchise. He has never been able to reach the playoffs because the lack of talent around him my first seasons here, and always fell short late in the season the last three years. But Isaac Staat, has been without a doubt one of biggest playmakers of the OSFL history, and I think one of the most underrated too.
He has never done an MVP season, and never topped the rushing charts. But even with that in mind he is the 7th in All-Time Rushing Yards with a total 12068 yards, and that number could be higher if Earnest Bixler never appeared. But this number isn’t why I said he’s one of the biggest playmakers ever. This numbers are, All-time Receiving Yards by a Running Back with 5052, and the first (and only atm) RB to ever reach the 5000 mark, plus most receiving TDs by a RB with 33. Also 4th All-Time in All Purposed Yards, with 24220, and 4th All-time in Yards from Scrimmage with 17120. That’s why he was so important to us, he was our offense, and our special teams, most of our yard production was thanks to him, and that will be a hole almost impossible to replenish in just one player. Thanks, Isaac!
We have RB Earnest Bixler, who was great as the 2nd RB his first two season, and his first season as a part-time starter RB has been not that great, though 4.43 avg is very good and I cannot complain with his perfomance. But is obviously he’s not Staat, he’s not a good a receiver, and can’t return the ball either. But let’s see how perform as a full-time starter next season.
Unleash the Beast. 3-4, the future?
This five seasons we used the typical 4-3, because we had a lack of talent in LB, but one of the best defensive lines. Now, we have OLB Stan Lee, one of the best players in the league, and with the DL ageing, it’s about time to make the switch, and for him to take charge of this defense along with S Nate Sinclair and CB Jerry Drake, who had a down year this last season. Without Staat, and probably without WR Frankie Odum, we depend more than ever in our defense.
