Not the way I expected Jistic to open up the draft. Frantz is definitely one of the best hitters in the class but for whatever reason I thought he was going to go with an arm here.

I think you're safe there. I used schubert as a comparison for Frantz ,and Schubert graded better. Still for the class we have this year I'm happy with what I got. But I'll trade him to you for Schubert if you're interested.

Schubert should, just might end up as a late bloomer alot like Carmen was (came out months before his 26th Bday)

    Stay patient!

Frantz was the safe pick in this draft. Hard to pick a true #1 in this one, but with hitting still trending south (started mid 90's) until the game evens things out a bit solid hitters carry a bit more of a premium.

My scout already shows this kid has advanced ratings for contacts. Might not be long until he appears in the big leagues.

Like the Frantz pick. Not sure I see him as 1.1 worthy but there's a ton to like there and if he's the fit, it's a good pick.

Crap, you were supposed to pick one of the three guys I was going to choose from to make my decision easier. I'll get the picks in when I get home from work. I've already got one person interested in one of those picks and if anyone else is interested better have something on the table for me by then and I'll look it over before picking.

Ok, Davenport will now get my other two on my super 3 board.

Then least theres some guys who can go from 4-9.

Frantz is one of those picks that I like, but had no interest in bringing to Denver. Nothing against him. Good player. Good pick.

Ok ladies change your tampons we're picking.

With the first pick of the 2002 BLB draft the Windy City Playboys select:

    CF Jaime Frantz
    http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_5341.html

There were three players we kept juggling as to whom to actually pick. Going with Frantz here for a few reasons. He looks like a legit leadoff guy with elite contact. He also looks like a ++ CF which is HUGELY important in The Mansion. This will allow us to slide JJ Caplan over in a few years and give us some options in the OF.

Frantz had only ONE error in his entire collegiate career.

He can hit, field, steal bases, has a decent eye so he's our guy. Only minor concern is his production has been slipping in college. Can't worry about that though.

I honestly haven't been this nervous to make a pick in forever. Oh, yeah, I haven't had to make a top five pick in a long while. *rimshot*

But seriously, I spoke with Jistic about his first and I backed out because I realized I don't know who the hell I would take first. I see five guys I like but can't decide which is the better player to have.

So, if anyone wants to move up to 1.5, let me know. I'll still want a first rounder and a prospect, but I'm so nervous I might punch a cab driver just to see if I can get away with it.

edit: updated in bold. I'm not gonna move the pick just to move it. I need closer to equal value.
