What's the hold up Andrew... we all know you're going to edit your pick's potential ratings anyway....

    ;)

Yeah, I think some people... (cough...Diesel....cough)... lose sight of the fact that most teams start quite a few guys with ratings in the 5's and 4's. Sure, the 7's and 8's are more attractive, but that's not the norm. This draft is pretty deep with 5's. That's a starter on a lot of teams.

Diesel and I talked about this...and I think all of you are pretty much right. We talked about anyone that we were "missing" from our boards...and I didn't think so. But that's because there aren't that many guys that I go "wow I NEED to have him!"...but at the same time, there are enough guys that can be solid players in the BLB to last us 2-3 rounds without reaching too far, which wasn't the case in past years. I kind of like how this changed, as not every year in the real draft will you have 10 killer guys and then questions...some years you just have solid players but no gods.

But then again I didn't have to wait for 20 whatever people to pick before I got my guy :)

BTW - Congrats to all on what was a pretty productive first day (24 hours). I thought getting through the majority of the 1st Round was pretty good considering it was a Tuesday/Wednesday.

I was really high on all of these guys and they were on my dream list of guys to fall to #25.

2B Cristián Sánchez, I like, but he just wasn't on my radar.
I had all the above ranked ahead of Sanchez. But I tip my hat to the other owners, nobody's let anyone slip.

Perez I had rated as the best middle infielder left on the board. Good potential for contact and power and a great eye. Not a defensive wizard, but potentially one of the better hitting middle infielders in 7-8 years. I REALLY wanted Ontiveros.

And I think Diesel you're high. This isn't even close to being the worst draft class. Not a ton of stars, but lots of depth with quality guys that have some breakout potential.

Just took a good look at this draft.

I think this might be the weakest class I have ever seen.
I'd say its the oppisite. I think it may be the deepest draft we've had. There's a bit lacking at the very top 1-2 prospects compared to previous years, but there's a lot of good guys I like.

I was also tempted to draft that reliever and turn him into a starter.

You're just bitter because everyone you wanted is already gone.

Agreed, I really like Ontiveros. Averaging out the talent ratings of my scouts, he comes out as the #2 hitter in the draft. If he had fallen one more pick, I'd have taken him at 15 probably.

That being said, I'm very happy to get Shawn Gates at 15. I wasn't sure he'd still be available at that pick. My pre-draft list had him at #8.

Sorry, thought I had it on auto pick when I left the house, I guess not. My pick is in now.

I was pretty happy to get Knight at #3. I only had one scout who rated him "badly", and if he ends up fulfilling that promise, I'll be happy. That being said, he's somewhat raw, but still quite young, as he'll play the entire season at 18. Cant wait to see how he does this year.

went with the best guy available. a MR who can't help out for a few years... but hopefully I'll win without him for the time being.

Damn, I swear I remember seeing $8 million at one time, oh well.
