He was #2 on my scout's list and right in line with what I thought would fall to me. I like all 4 of the previous picks but am happy with Mason at 5.

Defense and speed are off the charts and his power potential is very high.
Should be a great defensive CF with speed. My scout doesn't think he's a "superstar" but thinks he should be a "great" player. Won a shit ton of awards during his three years at Brewster.

Wasn't a fan of the outfielders. Don't get me wrong - good players, but not my type of player exactly.

My scout loved them. He's probably hating me for not taking one. And maybe I think about it but with McPherson, Verba, Perkins and a bunch of others like Godinez and Wright, I'm okay.

Maybe Squid can give you a change up at 1.4.

Evans won't be an ace but he was my second favorite. Had Wilkinson been gone, Evans would be in my system. Hard throwing lefty. No wow potential but should be a good pitcher.

He is a bit of an enigma. In 2004, he was a part-time player. In 2005, he didn't play at all. In the two years he did play he was one of the best hitters. That 2006 season he had 66 hits, 24 of which were homeruns! He's also 8-8-8 by my scout on speed/base running. He's got very high leadership but low intelligence and very low work ethic.
Think my scout had him either 1 or 2. He seems like a good kid, but this season I just didn't agree with my scout.

We pop SP Pat Evans. Wasn't really looking to go P with the 1.3, but BPA and all that. Lefty, 70 GB%, throws hard. We liked a few bats, but each had something about them that made us hesitate (especially while holding the 1.6, there's a tier there where we can get a similar bat). Evans was by far the best pitcher on our board. Glad to have him.

Loved this guy. Hasn't OPSd over 1.000 until this season, but gotta like his polished defense. That's what made him 2 in my eyes. At this stage we need an impact bat. (My scout called Dave an elite hitter no question)

My scout already has his contact at a 5. Pretty much the only reason he stays in the minors to pick 2B and or 3B and to round out his bat a bit.

Again nice pick. I had one other guy in my "group of 3"
