  • SF Bayhawks Needs to Step Down

Hey everyone. I need to step down as owner of the Bayhawks. I'm finding myself with less and less time these days and I don't think I'm doing my team any favors by not given its fair shake. I hope I have given enough time to find a new owner for this team before the majority of the offseason schedule begins. Good luck to you all.

    Heh.

The start of the offseason is postponed while I look for a SF owner. If anyone has any friends or contacts who may be interested, please post here or PM me. But I don't think it's fair to begin the staff hiring phase tonight without the new owner in place, so we're in a holding pattern until the spot is filled. Sorry folks.

Wonderful....it's not sufficient enough time. That would've been 2 weeks ago when you said you were in for next season, but whatever. I hope you still have time for the BLB and the other OOTP league you joined.

Skerik, I'll make a post over at FOFC if you haven't already.

Go ahead. Maybe you can bump my old post that I made over there when WelshWizard joined.

I echo the rest of your sentiments, btw.

Wow, just wow. I wish I lived in your static world where nothing ever changes. I certainly hope that I don't find myself without internet of access to my team for more than 24 hour for fear of the verbal berating I'd receive.

What benefit do snide remarks gain? I mean besides making this such a fun place.

Just curious - how does being without the internet or access to your team for 24 hours relate to bailing on a league a few weeks after you said you were committed to it, while staying in two other online leagues that require more dedication and effort than this one does?

I refuse to believe that things changed, today, drastically enough that someone needed to step down on the same day that the offseason begins. It also bears mentioning that SF declined to sign several good FAs that are now on the open market. It would have been nice to give a new owner a chance to re-sign those guys, which they now don't have.

The benefit of remarks like that is to make the other owners in this league respect the value of honoring a commitment to 31 other people and to make people realize that ditching that commitment, especially at one of the worst possible times, won't be tolerated without a valid excuse. And "I have less and less time these days" doesn't cut it in our static, unchanging world. People make the time to do the things they want to do. I'm busy and I make the time to run this league, just like you're no doubt busy while making the time to participate in it.

Oh, I agree with 'honoring your commitment' 100% and just about everything you said.

Maybe I'm too 'rose colored glasses' or polyanna-ish. (Do people still say that?)

I just like to give people the benefit of the doubt and a public dressing down doesn't seem the way to garner support for your (our) side.

I'm totally behind you in spirit, I guess just not in method (methodology?)

Perhaps the 24 hour analogy was a bit overblow, but it was more to make a point than to be taken literally.

I hope all the remaining owners stick around for years and years and give this league the continuity it deserves. For the overwhelming majority, it seems like a solid group.

                I'll shut up now.

For fear of what nasty names you might call me again, I'll continue to ignore you.

To Rubisco, if something came up in the past two weeks, then I'm sorry to hear that we're losing you because of it. Best of luck to you, and I'll see you over at the BLB.

Um..sticks and stones? Who knew you were so sensitive? I'm very sorry if my past comments in any way offended your sensibilites.

If getting and keeping active owners is the goal, then ... ah never mind.

This is the OSFL discussion board, not the "BLB past grievances" discussion board. I suggest you both drop it or take it to PMs.

As for the public dressing down, c'mon, we were all thinking it. If someone said they had some serious life issues and needed to drop, then fine. But to say "Gee guys, I just don't have the time anymore," while quitting at such an inopportune time....well I'm sorry, but I have issues with that.

I gave everyone an out and nobody took it. Now the UFA re-signing period has passed, the offseason begins tonight, and someone quits? C'mon, that's weak sauce.
