Obviously, some vets need to comment but we could easily move forward with his team being CPUd until we find somebody --- the AI's decent enough (I think --- input needed here) ---- I've taken over a couple of teams post draft and it's still a fun thing to do --- I don't see someone that's really interested being dissuaded by the lousy scout he has

I told you a fact, and you took it as me just making shit up. Explain how you were 'clarifying' with that statement, because I'd love to hear it.

In the meantime, why don't you all do a league-wide, 32-team, playoff and awards-included prediction and get EVERY SINGLE THING RIGHT.

I thought about that, but (a) I can't comment on how good the offseason AI is, and (b) I figured we'd be more likely to fill the spot before the offseason than in the middle of it or afterwards.

Obviously if an unreasonable amount of time passes and the spot isn't filled, we'll think about this. But for now, I think we should be able to fill it without waiting a long time.

I highly doubt it will take more than a day to fill up, so it shouldn't be an issue. I'd imagine that the offseason AI would be more than acceptable if we had to do it, though. I've run almost 100 years of a single-player dynasty, and the AI seems pretty good with offseason stuff.

Jesus. Why don't the whole league pull a black hole and implode on itself.. How about everyone just chill out, we fill the spot, and resume. Owners have to step down from the NFL sometimes too, and they don't get put on trial or publicly taken to the cleaners.. Its unfortunate that Rubisco had to step down, but if he feels he no longer has time, its fine by me.

I can see the need for a lot of leashes on a lot of volatile personalities here, and I won't name names.. but its a GAME. its not real. If it takes a little time to get a new owner and continue, cool, but don't make it take a lot longer because I can imagine new owners might take a look at the message boards here and have second thoughts immediately.

For what its worth, this league has better participation and more active ownership than the other three I am involved in, and those leagues are still great leagues. We need to realize that punching each other in the face not only looks pointless, but is pointless. We have a good thing here, lets keep it that way.
