What you're in, is cap hell thanks to FOF7's contracts being much more in line with the budget and the AI completely screwing you over.

In other words, you're in for some tough decisions. Full on rebuild.

Sort of. Put the preference to replace them at 100 and all the attributes at much more. If there are better coaches available when your pick comes up, they will be replaced.

The Punxsutawney off season starts with the retirement of the teams all time leader in running the ball, all purpose yards and yards from scrimmage...Ed Bergendahl. Bergendahl leaves us with 10,878 yards rushing. 59 TD's and a 4.51 YPC.

With his retirement, we currently have no RB's under contract. That obviously will be our main focus in FA as well as the draft. We found our franchise QB last season in Heath Morton. We HAD two solid WR's in Zander Ogden and Bennie Mandel. Mandel however seem to have taken a monster hit the season roll-over due to his severe shoulder injury from last season. He lost 32 points in his overall rating. he went from 69/69 to 37/37. So, another solid WR will be a focus as well. I need weapons for my shiny new QB.

The defense is pretty set, so the offense will be our focus.

If you want to keep all your coaches, I think you need to turn all your settings down so that you don't replace them.

I would.

Your assistants can be drafted into higher positions, so you may lost a coach and you don't want the AI to decide who to replace him with, do you?

At the very least put your threshold for replacement at 0 or 100. Whichever it is that tells the game you don't want to replace your coach even if someone better is available. The game tells you, I can't see it right now.

Tbh, I have no idea how staff drafting works. The one time I've done it I just assumed (probably errantly?) that all of my signed guys were safe.

Mostly it's just "set a few numbers and see what I get back." Not as fine tuned controls but I like not having to comb through the lists and basically surrendering decision-making to the game logic.
