Well, in this stage, you decide whether or not to extend your coaches, click "Finished with Renegotiations", and then put some numbers in some boxes depending on where you want new coaches.
The Punxsutawney off season starts with the retirement of the teams all time leader in running the ball, all purpose yards and yards from scrimmage...Ed Bergendahl. Bergendahl leaves us with 10,878 yards rushing. 59 TD's and a 4.51 YPC.

Well, Rickey Liliedahl retired. Early in his career he formed a dynamic duo with Vernon Gentala. We then drafted Howie LaFlamme and probably had the best starting DBs in the league.
Then I decided to blow up my defense. Liliedahl was the only one I kept from that trio, in part because he was the youngest, but also because he was a dynamic return man. I can't tell you how many games I won because of his punt returns. Many, I'm sure.
Rickey Liledahl leaves us fourth All Time in Passes Defensed, third in Punt Return Yards, second in Passes Defensed in one season (29) and the single season record holder for Punt Return Yards at 797 yards.
He was never flashy as a CB, but damned if he didn't do his job well for many, many years. My defense has lost one of its best and we're likely to never be the same team again.
I've never participated in a staff draft...so...what's this setting number values thing?
If you really want to keep a coach, set his number at 100. If you want to replace him, set it to 0. Anything in between and he will only be replaced if there is someone better at the skill values you choose. This actually holds true even if you have it set to 0. If your guy is the best of what's available, he won't be replaced, even if you want him replaced.
This is my experience and understanding of how the staff draft works.
While looking in-game will give you a better idea of who you dropped and who you signed, IF YOU NOTICE ANY ISSUES WITH THE STAFF DRAFT PLEASE REPORT THEM. It's a weird stage to run, so we want to make sure it was run properly.
Well, what the shit?? I had my HC set at zero. I DID NOT want to replace him. But because I had other attributes set at much more...FOR THE DC I WANTED TO HIRE...the game took it upon itself to fire my HC and hire a new one. The new guy is a better scout, player developer and better with young talent. Not as good at motivation.
Overall, the new guy is not bad at all. It's just that I wasn't looking to replace my current guy. Guess we'll see how it works out.
The DC I got however...very pleased with him. Excellent play caller, scout and interviewing. I should have a really good take on the incoming defensive players in this years draft.
The Sharks started really good the off-season signing extensions to our key-players and reducing the cap in $12M, now we have $42 millions to spend which is a really good number with a lot quality in the Free Agency Pool and 43 players signed already
