Yeah. It's really about the cap being a use it or lose it proposition. It's there as a resource for you to use to improve your team. If it's not spent on either your own players (extensions) or in FA, it isn't as if it will roll over -- it's just players you could have acquired going to other teams instead.

You do have to watch out for saddling yourself with burdensome contracts. Especially if you are a stronger team with less margin for error in this area.

If Port City had offered less and lost out, they'd probably be kicking themselves and thinking, "Well, *now* what am I going to do with all this cap space?" Which is what I'm thinking, actually.

I'm the same way... I think that all the time. One player is not worth that kind of money, I tell myself.

Is there a way for you to check and see if someone you trade for will be an affinty (+ or -) before you trade for them?

If you search for players on a current roster, you can see them just like Free Agents, and as usual the green are going to be affinity.

Awesome. I hadn't ever paid attention to that for guys on other rosters.

I used to think "I'd never pay anyone like that" and then I realized I never got any good free agents.

I was hoping Korey Marklund would be coming back to Dakota, but not for that much. Too bad, we'll miss him!

Take that Boston. I actually out signed someone on a 1-year contract!

Damnit. It hurts that it was so close, too.

Nice job, Washington We'll try to get some silver lining out of this.

This has easily been my most involved FA to date, and I'm having a lot of fun building my team this way.

I should send Rob my picks all the time. :)

He is my insurance starter if the old man (LDE Perry Crawford) vaporizes in Training Camp. :)

Wow, I severely overestimated how other teams might view safety Ethan Walker.
