maybe it was, but it should become the norm. We make time to play video games and do other things that we like to do in our spare time. Honestly, I think a draft could be done in 3 days, Especially if all the tools are used. I know trades can hold things up but is it too much to ask to have the draft a priority for a couple days? I know there are more important things in life but i'm sure the majority of us in the league that game, take the time to pick up a 360 or PS3 controller at some point during the day but we're too busy to take a minute to get a pick in.

Dont forget about that nice breakdown you did on bear's team.....Originally posted by Hoosier View PostWell, today I did laundry, vacuumed, fed the dogs walked the dogs--there's an Aerosmith song in there somewhere--took out the trash, washed dishes, made some helmets, cooked dinner gameplanned for the NC championship game in the UFL, got my butt handed to me in the VNFLHist league, took my daughter to the homecoming bonfire, picked her up
and drafted two defensive tackles from Arizona. . .
so yes, it does seem slower. . .I should at least have had one more draftee in there. ..
8 more years til I get to retire and join you!!

No, it's not. If my count is correct, I've been a part of 19 FOF MP drafts now (10 IHOF, 2 WOOF, 3 FOFL, 2 OSFL, 1 CFL, 1 USFL), and this one is going to be the longest by far. Despite 14-hour clocks, I don't think IHOF or WOOF have ever taken more than 5 days, and the others have shorter clocks and don't, either. Since the creation of the draft utility, the norm has been 3-5 days, in my experience.Originally posted by Acid View PostI'm pretty sure last season's draft was an anomaly.

Wasn't the change to 2 in the 5th round.Originally posted by aholbert View PostThe scoreboard is currently Matt 4, Clay 1. Aaron, I give you tons of respect for taking this thing over... but someone needs to reel in Mistwood. His bitching is sucking the fun out of this league and he hasn't played a snap. I'm putting him on ignore, which is pretty sad in a 32 team league. The Great One!
Too many rings to count.

I just don't think some guys get it.Originally posted by Clay View PostAnd on another note, how did I do anything wrong when I had 6 hours? Wasn't the change to 2 in the 5th round.
Taking close to 6 hours to make your pick because you are trying to trade out of the pick, agonize over who you want to take, etc is one thing ... but taking close to 6 hours bascially because you are away from the computer is what baffles some of us, since we have a PREFERENCE LIST.
my 2 cents.

Agreed. I've been in about the same amount (over 10 with the eNFL, 2 WOOF, 2 IHOF, 2 OSFL) and this is the longest I've ever seen. I spend time with my family, I don't sit by the computer all day, but I do check in on the computer at least twice a day and fill my list as needed. It takes me all of 10-15 minutes each time I do so.Originally posted by SkyDog View PostNo, it's not. While I agree completely, there are those that have shown they simply don't care how long the draft takes and nothing is going to change their minds. At this point I think we all need to accept the fact that this draft took forever and focus on what steps we need to take in order to fix it for next year.Originally posted by BillL130 View PostI just don't think some guys get it.

Oh my bad, I must have missed the section of the rules that lists the legitimate reasons for using the time limit and the unacceptable reasons. If you could point me in the right direction so I don't ruin your life anymore, that'd be great.Originally posted by BillL130 View PostI just don't think some guys get it.

Z, I just think that what everyone is saying is that we're all adults here with real life issues and responsibilities. Even the reason that he listed, imo, is not cause for using the allotted time. Well, working out a trade could be. However, agonizing over a pick, well, this is FOF. We're not Jerry Jones, Bob Kraft, Al Davis here. We're not spending any money. Shit or get off the pot. This horse has been beaten to death but there the utility is there for those who getting that don't have getting through the draft a priority. Use it. There are 32 owners in this league. Just be respectful. Enough people have been called out on it, yet it continues to happen. No one would whine if everyone would just be respectful of the other guy. If we could've made more leeway on Sunday when it started, this draft would be over. The real NFL was too important to miss a couple snaps.Originally posted by TheLetterZ View PostOh my bad, I must have missed the section of the rules that lists the legitimate reasons for using the time limit and the unacceptable reasons. True, there is no rule that says you shouldn't be an inconsiderate dick to your fellow owners. I guess the blame here lies with me, as I didn't foresee that a rule like that would be necessary when I drafted the initial rules for the league.Originally posted by TheLetterZ View PostOh my bad, I must have missed the section of the rules that lists the legitimate reasons for using the time limit and the unacceptable reasons. Obviously there's a 6-hour window and obviously you're not bound by the rules of the league to make a pick before that window expires. It's just an issue of common courtesy, but I agree with your point that there are currently no rules that require owners to be courteous.
Short of being courteous though, it'd be nice if the people holding up the draft just came back, made their picks, and kept their comments to themselves instead of mouthing off and telling us all how lame our lives all are because we're actually interested in this draft.SIN CITY GAMBLERS since 1990

Hey, everybody, i doubt it matters much anymore anyway. I figure we should be able to finish this thing today or early tomorrow, and the last FA period will be done by then, so we can get right on PDFA. It kind of works out.
It was rough early in the draft because they ere valuable picks, and we didnt want to have to use our preference lists.. (both the ones that were here and the ones that weren't) But it has progressed nicely since we got out of round 1, and we're close to finishing up. Its been sort of arduous, a little painstaking, but seriously.. Nothing to get too hot headed over. As I mentioned earlier, we'll be set to start PDFA immediately. Lets just try and fix it next offseason and maybe foster a little competition by gameplanning to beat the ones you hate. Maybe our rivalries will develop in more ways than just on the field.
Now, does anybody have any picks they want to dump? Yuma wants one more.

exactly, it's the "I don't give a shit attitudes" that rub people the wrong way. People will clear a whole freaking calender for a fantasy football draft and that has become the most annoying pastime in all of pastimes. Everyone is always talking about that fantasy team. who gived a shit?Originally posted by Skerik View PostTrue, there is no rule that says you shouldn't be an inconsiderate dick to your fellow owners.
