        With the 11th pick...the Portland Phantoms select....Bryant Davis...defensive end...American International College.

Really excited to land a guy that I thought for sure would be a top 5-6 pick. Need position for my team. Scout likes him. Bars look good. Great combine. A little undersized. Should start right away opposite Michael Hagglund. (and for the record..finding a picture of a defensive end from American International College...no easy feat)

Darn...I was at the river all day and get home just to miss my pick. I should have adjusted my priority b/c there was someone else I would have taken too! Oh well.

                  Pick in.

Love Sullivan... felt like I could probably get him 20 picks from now... but it's a major need position... so I couldn't miss out.

I liked Sullivan, too, and was thinking about maybe going another way with my #4 pick and rolling the dice that he'd be around in Rd 2. Good thing I didn't.

the first pick of the new era of the Riders. Will "somehow" Shumway

Phoenix was busy all morning in the war room trying to move up in the end, thankfully, it was all for naught. It might have been a bit of a reach, as the 1st RB taken in the draft, but Will had a great interview and was neck and neck with Billy Joe Jenness, but in the end 2 things set Will apart. His amazing work horse mentality and his nack for making 1st downs on the ground and in the air.

nothing better for an aging Qb than a young set of legs

Props to everyone for keeping things moving. This seems like the first draft we've had where at least one owner didn't completely disappear.

Not really. Weve had 3 missing owners. Two are on auto because their owners havent even bothered to register and one is on auto because he missed his first pick.

Whats making the draft fly by is that the rest of the owners are either here or willing to use the prferece list. Good job everybody.
