Looking forward to tomorrow's game. I'm hoping my strategic realignment two or three games ago pays off against Morrison.

according to team doctors Alfred morrision wil play today inspite of being attacked by Allen Rose's pet horned frog, morrison will wear gogglesw and a visor today to protect his eyes and hopefully it will not restrict his vision too much

when asked about his hairstyle morrison had no comment

          in todays pregame press conference

Q Strick your team has gone from a door mat the last 2 season to well a legitimate contender what has been the difference.

A well its experiance and the coaching staff my expriance in draftign and FA signings too gettin Allen Rose was big but Tom Skeen has truly been the difference maker. Dont get me wrong none of us could have predicted how good Tom was gonna be or how much he had left in the tank. and you can see it that he doesnt run as often as he used to but when he does run its with a purpose and its tiemly.

Q so how much does he have left in the tank?

A well tom said hell probably come back next year but who knwos about these things i mean we gave him a 2 year deal so we canonly hope. but we know we need a QB for the future and we think we may have it in Lamont Emerson but we also have 2 1st roudn picks this year so we will certanly keep our eyes open.

Q yes in regards to the multipule picks, that was a result of a trade how do youthink you did

A well i thik the trade will turn out fair i mean we were sitting at 8 overall and just didnt see anyone we felt was THAT good at a postion of need honest we were hoping teh kid denver go...um crane, yeah crane from Miami woudl fall to us but not ony did we not get him but he went to a division rival so that means well see him twice a year. but it looks liek well be about the same place with morgantowns pick and we got a 3rd i believe and from how it looks well be inthe top 10 so i think it was fair and the CBthey got...man that kid has some balls!

Q last question Strick who do you not woant to see in teh playoffs?

A well first we need to get there lets not put the cart before the horse, but if you held a gun to my head id normally say Utah they seem to have our number lately. but with randy boon out its a different team.

but believe it or not Washington, they are built the same as us and the last 2 times we played them it was very phsyical and if we ahev to play them inteh 1st roudn and we win i dont know how much will be left inthe tank. but our 1st concern is Los Alamos, they too are a hard running phsyical team were gonna have to earn our sopt to the playoffs. and thats just how we liek it.

the champagne was popping in the locker room as the riders advanced to the post season, winnign the division and thanks to washingtons win they have also got a much needed 1st round bye and will stay at home unless they have to play port city.

Skeen was happy but visibly upset by his performance today, "i threw 2 picks so youre never happy about that. but when you get a win it hurts much less and the good thign is with the bye week you dotn have time to dwell on it. the only bad thing is you want to prepare but you dont know who to prepare for. so well rest up and do a littel celebrating. but its back to work on wenesday."

the riders looked like they wanted to send a message racking up 209 yards on the ground. Will Shumway expressed some persoanl feelings about a recent rankings of the top RB's in the game and his name not being mentioned.

"yeah it stings a bit i mean i work just as hard as those other guys and year in year out im in the top 10 in yards and tds. but ive always used that as motivation i mean all the big schools passed over me or wanted me to be a db. North Carolina was the only school that let me play RB. but thats how i got my nickname, somehow i get it done if i gotta carry it 25 times or if im catching balls out of the backfield. in the end its not about me its about this, trying to get that ring like Tom has hes really helped me and a lot of the vets refocous and recommit. they brought in the right new blood this off season."

so the riders will rest and prepare for thier 2nd post season run in the last 4 years. in 2017 they won the division but lost to the eventual champion Washington 16-13 in what was quite a battle and came down to a late fg with a lottle over a minute left to win it for the Bombers.

wow talk about be careful what you wish for.... 1st round bye and i get the defending champs. the gladiators have won twice in the last 5 years. while phoenix as a franchise is 2-5 in the post season the last playoff win was in 2013 in the conferance finals.

tom skeen has been a man to change the fates tho he took the hapless Washington franchise to glory and he wantd to do the same thing here in the desert. it will be a tough game against one of the best franchises in the league

well when your first play from scrimmage is an INT thats usually a a bad sign. another 1 and done for the riders. we cannot give a team liek that 3 extra posessions we cannot throw the ball 40 times a game. i really need to look at some of my old gameplans cause to me slight run is not throwing it 60% on 1st down.

i have to say as much as a suprise as this season was im still dissapionted at how we finished. 4 turnovers its been our problem all season as highlighted by will shumway haveing more fumbles than tds.

also dissapointing is that i may have squanderes skeens last good year. im expecting quite a few retirements. so this off season will be a busy one and with those retirements i should have some cap room

sadly not at all but let me try that again thomas skeen in in his 11th year so me may retire soon, however i do recall reading that retirement is weighed more towards year of service than the players actual age. i am hoping that is the case because skeen just turned 33 (i just checked) so most nfl qbs will hang it up at that age but for example carl reese played 15 seasons but he was 34 when he retired

so if skeen retires at 34 then hell only play 1 more season and who knows how much hell drop, but if he plays 15 seasons (retires at 38) then i can get 2 or 3 quality years from him

Today as teh phoenix riders held a press conference to open thier brand new 60,000 seat domed stadium they made 1 simple announcement

"we have just acquired the 2nd overall pick in the draft"

now the question is what will they do? the easy answer is Qb tom skeen has not been flexable in negotiations but lamont emmerson looked very good last year in pre season, or will they look to the dline with andrews aging. ony time will tell

At this time we are saddened to hear about the off field issues of a former member of the Riders family Rex Wynn a former 3rd round pick was suspened today by 1st year commish BradZ, the commish could not be reached for commment.

rex was very productive as a starter but when he lost his starting spot he just wasnt the same player Isaac Andrews gave a heart warming message "we wish him the best of luck battiling his off field issues and his personal demons."

                              2021

                              Phoenix, Arizona

The Riders broke camp in Tombestone to open thier breand new stadium the 60,000 seat retractable roof stadium is the start of a new beginning for the franchise. in an interview with the owner he was very happy "it just kind of fell together the stadium was 30+ years old so we felt it was time and the city was very generous with helping us. and after the season we had last year i think the fans will very happy with our new facility."

the newly christiand "Cialis arena" (they were a big sponsor) will be broken in this weekend and we are told we will see a lot from late rookie signee Rico Ogelthorpe. This year phoenix has lots to celebrate in 2021 Alfred Morrison became the franchise all time leading reciever passing the great Sammy Slade and he wants more. Isaac andrews had a sub par season and is still looking to join the 100 sack club.

Phoenix was fairly quiet in the off season choosing to stick with who they have for the most part. with only 2 major retirements G ethan Fox and T Karl MacKenzie. while all of thier division rivals improved most notably LA and Utah have been bust as bees if i may be allowed a pun. and the x factor is Denver. the new leadership group finished strong last season and looks to only have gotten better after finishing thier season 5-2 beating playoff bound teams Phoenix, and Utah. They could well be a contender fro the West crown.

there is also much to be concerned about. the scheulding gods were cruel after last seasons 11-5 season. Having to play perennial powers Port City, Camden and Anchoridge. it could be a long season.

rough debut for rico but in his defense he was playing with the B team 18-41 4 bad throws 3 dropped balls my main concern the the 7 passes defensed and the 5 hurries

the line looked good run blocking at least 4.15 ypc but for preseason im just glad nobody is hurt and we move onto week 2 with the "dust bowl" Yuma vs Phoenix.
