It is Castor. I remember my first season with the Tobs looking at him and wondering how someone could drop off that hard right at 30.

Didn't Castor have a big season early on in BAL before he was traded away? The year he had 150+ RBI?

Talley hasn't been bugged by the 'fragile' tag. We've dealt with fragile arms before (See Tyler G). Just keep them on a pitch count.
Overall that draft class ended up with so many fragile arms. Was like the games way of keeping a very good pitching class in check.

Players with BLB Experience:
Pitcher - SP Pat Evans (PHI) - Currently ranks as the 3rd best pitcher in baseball. Doesn't turn 27 until April. He's also already signed to a very nice extension at 5-years $50M. He's durable. 99 MPH velocity. 74% groundball. Very High Leadership.
Runner up would be Johnny McDade (PAW). He's a little bit younger, not a leader but is very close to Evans otherwise. It's almost a toss up. I also considered Willie Fajardo and John Talley because they are younger but if I had this high of a pick, no way would I draft a player who is fragile.
Position Player - OF Ricky Murillo (CAR) - He's the best hitter in baseball, hands down. His defense is average, his durability is average, he has very low leadership, he turns 28 in May...but his bat is so damn good that there is no one else I would rather have.
I considered young infielders because the good ones are so hard to come by (Jimmy Kidwell, Sullivan Smart, Andy Garcia, etc) but if you have a chance to land the best hitter in the game who is just entering his prime, you do it.
Player with no BLB Experience:
Prospect - IF Bobby Marrero (LAD)
If I have built my franchise with a soon to be 28 year old hitter, and soon to be 27 year old pitcher, I don't want a prospect who is still down in Single or Double-A. Marrero won't turn 20 until December but he hit .380 with a 1.109 OPS in Double-A and .288 with a .804 OPS in Triple-A this year. Very High Leadership. Switch hits. Has some speed. Very versatile defensively, potentially DWI level at 2B and LF. OSA and my scout have his power potential at a "7".
I considered SP Jaylen Mitchell (PAW) because he is clearly the best pitching prospect in the game and BLB ready...but I just wouldn't use this high of a pick on a pitcher who is fragile. Also CF Jimmy Gray and SP BJ Engstrom but they are probably a year or two away still. Wouldn't want to waste Evans/Murillo's prime years.

Players with BLB Experience:
Pitcher -I'll go with Fajardo. Only 23 already on the Top Players List. Probably only 2 years out from dominating day in day out.
Position Player -A bit of a homer pick but I'm going with Oscar Sanchez. Can field every outfield position and is an XB machine. He's an intangible beast and should be able to lead a team for the next 7-8 years at just 28.
Player with no BLB Experience:
Prospect -I'm going with "Boom Boom McCormick. He's got real talent and fits a Baltimore type of player.

Spoiler
Players with BLB Experience:
Pitcher - Pat Evans (PHI) 26 and a lefty. No major injuries, keeps the ball in the park, doesn't walk many and almost every start is a quality one.
Position Player - This one was the hardest. Ricky Murillo (CAR) is the 'it' choice right now, but I'd probably go a little off the radar and take SS Sullivan Smart (BAT). Smart can play both middle IF positions at the highest level, hits from both sides of the plate with a bit of pop, can run, and is just 26.
Player with no BLB Experience:
Prospect - SP Jaylen Mitchell (PAW) His injury history is a bit scary, but he's the most developed at 22 and would form a pretty nice 1-2 combo with Evans for years.Last edited by umd; 08-01-2015, 08:31 AM.

Indy was just 45-45 in the 1st half but has gone 39-20 since, and likely headed to a division title. On pace for their best record since 2004.
New York was 39-49 in the 1st half but has gone 19-41 since, and likely headed towards a Top 3 Draft Pick. On pace for their worst records since 1984.Last edited by Pat; 07-29-2015, 11:11 AM.
