To add to this, there is something funny about how OOTP's accountant manages your money after releasing a player.

They will tell you that you have a lot more free money but they don't take into account your other expenses.

Problem is you can spend the money you want. Bigger problem is, unless you got the budget for it, you'll be in a lot of debt.

Same here. I've assumed it is what splits attendance on home vs road games.

I thought it was in his market too.

                  • I apply to the masses to gather your opinion about a fact.

A player, more times than not, plays better when is in his contract year. It does apply to the OOTP as far as I could experience.

My question is... Do you wait during the season to extend their contracts to "ride that wave" or his demands can significantly increase while "he´s riding that wave"??

Many thanks as usual, oh OOTP gurús!

A player, often those who are high in greed, will play better in a contract year. But, whether it is related loyalty or not, sometimes players struggled in a contract year, often sending multiple emails about wanting to stay but haven't received a contract offer. It goes both ways.

If it is a player that you 100% want to bring back and are just trying to decide when to make the offer, I would recommend keeping a weekly eye on his demands. Sometimes when Free-Agency opens (right now) their demands are a lot higher, than say in Spring Training or the first months of the season. If the demands go down, you can ride that to see how low it goes, or if the demands start to rise, you can send in an offer then.

I don't think there is one perfect way to do it. I've definitely won some and lost some.

                        • Aside from...

looking up all college/hs players by hand, is there a way to identify the draft eligible players in-game?
