I'm not sure if it's in this thread but DVS has 259 points for Top Prospects and over a hundred point lead on #2...which has to be close to a record. I'm pretty sure Carolina had 300 points once back in the day...maybe Liquid's old team?

The good news for everyone is that this offseason a team can acquire a former champion, .300 hitting, defensive stud CF Antonio Ontiveros...on a 1 year deal with a team option this offseason.
Looking forward to helping someone fill seemingly the biggest hole in the game to fill this offseason.

Not sure how useful a resource the Top 100 will be for me going forward.

Geoff Reisinger (who has a negative-20 zone rating, by the way, and has been worth fewer than 1.0 WAR)
Dave Sliney
O.P. Williams
Tom Roseboom
Ian Coffey
That's it.
That's the whole list.
Four actual center fielders, plus Reisinger who is McPhersoning fly balls in the middle of the outfield.
So yeah. Center fielders who can catch fly balls and hit near a league average level are rare and valuable.
P.S. I realize a few guys have missed time due to injury and would otherwise be included, but injuries are a part of baseball and the point still stands.

With maybe one exception, the teams with poorer Centerfielders have poorer records.
Hmm.

Maybe good defense in center field is just that important.
The game clearly values defense a lot more than it once did.
