I was just reading FanGraphs new top 100 prospects list this week.

It has at least 11 center fielders.

Our BLB list? It has 11, too.
Idk...J.P. Soderberg is listed as my #4 prospect above guys like Corr and Joiner despite the fact that both my scout and OSA not only prefer both of those players, but they don't see Soderberg as much of anything. He was even on the top 100 for a brief period. Makes no sense. He's a 24 year old in AAA who's barely keeping his head above water.

It's no secret that Centerfielders are overrated. I wonder what this does to the draft moving forward?

Freddy Morton, a 23-year-old undrafted centerfielder still in A ball, is rated as my second best hitting prospect. Behind a 24-year-old CF prospect Jimmy McGraw that is just making it now to AAA and can't even start.

Meanwhile, Ed Zahn has played 61 games in AAA, has hit 9 home runs and is batting .312, and he's only 7th. 3 centerfielders are in front of him according to OSA. It's kind of crazy.

SP Enrique "The Artist" Bernardi debuts on the top 100 at #95.

UDFA CF Jimmy Dumais debuted last week and is now up to #92...and now he's hurt.

Those two push Seattle to the #2 system with a slim lead over Kansas City. However, #1 Davenport is head and shoulders above the rest on the rankings. Their 241 points is almost the same as #4 California and #5 Carolina, combined!

My 2018 third round pick Dave Boeser just sneaked onto the list for the first time at #99.

He's someone I feel especially excited about. (Pat must be tired of me talking up Boeser to him by now.)

Boeser could be a plus-plus defender at seven positions and looks like he can swing the bat at an above-average level, too.

SS Alex Velez who I think will end up a steal didn't crack our top 20 org either. Yet former 9th round phenom C Dave 'I suck' Finkelstein is?? Interesting.

I wouldn't worry at all. Still have to use your judgement in this game. Maybe even more now???

    I laughed.

I'm not surprised that Whaley debuted Top 10 at all. I actually thought he might debut higher. If you looked at the Top 100 at the BLB and the amateur level's it was clear the game has some new evaluation for CFs. Willie Londono, who I like but far from elite, is currently the #1 prospect in the BLB. In HS, NCAA and CCBL, there was a CF in the #1-#5 range of top prospects. Shit, even CF Jackson Simmons (PIT), a late 3rd rounder, debuted Top 100 and the guy hit .214 in college with a .647 OPS. Clearly, the new OOTP engine likes CFs.

As for Bernardi not debuting, I think he will emerge over time. According to the Org Player Development Org Depth Chart, he ranks below only Tom King (#3 Top 100) in potential at SP. That means he has higher potential, according to this, than McVicker (#15 Top 100) , Brooks (#19) and Lensini (#28).

However, the fact that he didn't even make my ORG Top 20, is a bit troubling.

Oh it moved in 17? Weird.

Goes to show you how much I pay attention to it in my other leagues.

On the bottom left, it lists your prospects and also includes a rating next to their name.
It is rank now. But days 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th depending in which level of your system they are. I don't think the Top prospects are in that screen anymore... Anyone can post a picture if they have someone ranked?

    Is it still there?

I looked last night and didn't see it.

I think it was replaced with position ranking or something like that. I meant to post about it last night but forgot.
