I don't know if Cialis is a big sponsor, but they're definitely growing.... unlike Rico Oglethorpe.

game 2 in the pre season saw yuma winning the dust bowl handily 34-6 in spite of a rough start, throwing a int on the 2nd play from scrimmage Lamont Emmerson looked very good going 26-38 with the b team completing passes to 9 different players. 4 hurries and 0 bad throws, he looks to have solidified his position as the #2 qb.

we will take the bye week to begin making our cut list. and rico will start game #3 with the A team

Man oh man is Rico having some rookie struggles.

I think it's the same with all young QBs though. They just need to get those INTs out of their system. Boone had 'em.

sheesh, thank god i have a running game

9-26 and 2 ints what really worries me is the 8 hurries no disrespect to LV but yuma never got close to emmerson nly 4 hurries in 38 attempts.

          the good:
inspite of losing 2 starters to retirement off lsat yeaers line we look to be ok racking up 229 on the ground at 6.59 ypc pass protection SEEMS to be fine only giving up 4 sacks in 3 games

in spite of knowing only 7 formations i only got 1 familiar this week so looks like the GP was ok

will shumway has gas in the tank so another 1300yds rushing will be in order

also coralled 5 ints new edtion xavier hammond looked good in the dine/nicle packages

          the bad:
rico started with the A team and looked even worse than week 1 he will DEFINATELY not see any action this year.

8 hurries not sure who to blame them on the line or the qb considering last week in a much more pass heavy gamepan. my impression was hurries are the lines fault and sacks were the qbs fault

too many damn penalties week in and out not sure why last season i was inthe top 10 (iirc) most penalties called but the 2 years before that i was in the top 10 fewest. same head coach so i dunno

          the ugly:
1/12 on 3rd down and that was a draw play on 3rd and 7

68 yards passing 2.32 yds per pass

and my personal fav -5 in punt return yards.

perhaps i should have not traded up one other thing ive noticed is *suprise* more blocked passes at the line

            Hurries = OL

So at least that wasn't Rico's fault. Get him up to speed as soon as you can!

its weird then cause i passed 38 times with emmerson and didnt play my starters on the oline yet only had 4 hurries didnt run the ball at all. one other thing jeffery pointed out (in his flawed sudies ) is that a higher read d lead to more sacks. ill look more when i get home but i think ricos read d is higher than emmerson

Today Phoenix annouced a trade with Boston.

Reuniting De Allen Rose with former teamate DT Trevor Pruett. With Denver upgrading at RB and Utah looking to try and run and the mad Cucumber ripeining we felt we needed to do somethign to shore up our run d. Pruett a fromer #1 overall will slide right in altho a bit undersized he is a stout run defender and can collapse the pocket and in the riders 4-3 system he should flourish as we have compiled one of the better front 4's in the OSFL,

granted its one of the oldest front 4's but Pruett will aslo be a great mentor to our 2 young DT's Rick Barrett and Earnest McQuaig who looked very good in the preseason. hopefully we can get 3 good years out of pruett at age 32 we will see

bitter pill to swallow because my d played so well. we let emmerson down i dont care who you are throwing the ball 53 times is too much. again the gameplan seemed not to matter throwing the ball on the first 5 offensive plays in a row. very disappointed

emmerson WILL start game 2 and we will try and support him better

                    Phoenix 23 S Maryland 6

on the surface looks like a good win, but in reality not so much.

                    the good:

earlier i said i had one of the best front 4's S. Maryland HAS THE BEST front 4. 4 guys all high first rounders and not a bust in the group and young. that beign said we were KIND of able to run the ball just a little over 3 ypc not spectacular but enough to win.

ernie morrise 5 krb's in 12 chances look good for a rookie against that monster line. and this game well chalk up to special teams. ellision return the opening kickoff 58 yards even tho its a 3 and out we get points!

and the d was stalwart again granted the Jags went 2/5 on fg attempts the 3 missed fg were 45,49,51 not gimmies so the d kept them out of easy fg range. and since teh offense coundt score the d decided they wnated to with a rare fumble from isaac staat returned for a td.

2 trips to the red zone and 2 scores 1 td 1 fg.

and tom skeen seems to be rubbing off on my qb emmersons a runner 4-21

                    the bad

complete 3 passes 3! im gonna chalk that up to the pressure by s. maryland yeah thats it.

my rookie olineman was player of the game??

                    the ugly:

we have not thrown a td pass yet in 6 games. not in preseason not in games, not 1 had a 1st and goal from the 3 couldnt get a td.

                    3-12 passing sad sad sad.

                    did i mention 3 for 12?

got a penalty for ileagal touch of a forward pass. thats a new one.

Man, that is awesome. Winning games with 3-of-12 passing is so old school. Love it!

                                Motor city 42 Phoenix 14

                                the good

                                will shumway looked good 22-145

Threw our 1st TD in 6 games

                                the bad

threw our first 2 picks of the season

                                the ugly

1st play of the game we threw a pick

pretty much what i was expecting. Motor city played us in a dogfight last year when we were healthy and we ecsaped by 3 we limped into this one like a dog beggin to be put out of its misery

when you lose this bad there really isint much you can do so much for the "a wr is more important than a qb" theory. back to the drawing board for next week and a game kalespel team

i think whats killing me is Emmersns low read d hes just forcing the ball into morrision to wit

1-10-PHO29 (1Q: 14:23) Ralph Waldo Emerson pass was intended for WR Alfred Morrison and was intercepted by S D.J. McElroy at the PHO47. Tackled by Alfred Morrison. The quarterback threw into double coverage.

and his inablity to complete passes in the 9-18 yd range

                                time for a change?
